I'm not sure where you see that. The CPU is slower compared to the common 13th 13700hx, the memory is much slower, the integrated graphics is slower (when using them)
The 13th gen of this is 13700H. The HX is a completely different beast, and a power hog. It's fast if your cooling can handle it.

The gaming performance of this is good for a 4070, based on benchmarks.

Nothing that slows it down, actually. Intel's 13th gen is pretty much no gain, and this CPU is more than adequate. Much better than the 7735HS that is common on "bargain" machines this year.

This 4070 is ~15% faster than a comparable 4060.

Gizmo likes it. https://youtu.be/08YQbJKk0lA?si=jt7jk1Qw8T1jvl4P
Thanks, good review, checking it out now.

At $1,150 for this 4070 laptop, he said it's a "phenomenal value" -
of course he's not a Slickdealer, so like I said about the other guy,
he'd be jumping for joy to get a price of $1,000! nod

There is a Chase Offer for 10% CB (up to $25 bonus) that expires on 11/23/23. If you have multiple cards, I think you can earn multiple bonuses.

4080 brings a big increase in PRICE.

4080 laptops are $2,000. TWICE this price.

EDIT: Found a 4080 MSI laptop he claimed was $1700, and now $1600:

He said it has a big problem though.
You found it! Good job, it's the best value out there right now if you want to get most performance per dollar. It's $1488 right now with ZIP

I'd have to disagree.

MS flight simulator and Hogwarts are 20 to 25% faster on 4070 than 4060.
Witcher 3 is 60% faster using 4070 at 1440p!

These are 3 of the most demanding games, and it can make the difference between being playable and not playable.
Just keep in mind that this display is only 1080p, so those 1440p benchmarks aren't as relevant unless someone plans to use an external monitor. Yes, it's a measure of improved performance, but it's also only so applicable in real world use. For example, MSFS is heavily CPU dependent, so between those test units, is it the same CPU?

You have to look at the whole package when comparing gaming laptops. That said, this hardware with a 1440p, 350+ nit screen would be an instant buy for me. Seems to be even $1100 doesn't get that right now.

Yes, but even if it had a 1440p display (where 1440p resolution will look best) if it's turned down to 1080p, it won't look as good as a native 1080p display.

Agreed though, that I'd prefer this with a 1440p, 350+ nit screen for $1,100.

Not worth the extra $500 imo. This 4070 laptop for $1K makes the most sense for me.

WARNING!!

I got this. But I have to return it for the dumbest reason. I cannot press Z while holding SHIFT + W. That means I cannot go prone while sprinting forward. ON A GAMMING LAPTOP

It's so random which combination of keys can be pressed simultaneously. Sometimes 3 and even 4 keys can be pressed simultaneously. But sometimes only 2 like this SHIIFT + W but no Z nonsense. This has real life consequences. I have actually died many times because of this. If you google "keyboard test" and go to the second result (first result only checks typing related key action, not held keys, so do second result with the .space domain) you can hopefully understand how dog crap this keyboard is.

This laptop is also a stuttering mess out of the box. I had to configure the software with a terrible UI named Armory Crate to ignore itself and use Windows performance related settings. And I had to disable the Armory Crate audio enhancement. After doing these two things it runs smooth. They literally add software to the gaming laptop that makes games unplayable. But they already made games unplayable with the keyboard. I admire the dedication shown by this redundancy.
Dying in a game isn't a real-life consequence. Smilie

That said, if it doesn't work for what you want it to do, yep, send it back.

USB external keyboard would solve this - something I utilize anyway while doing anything involving with laptops.
N key rollover is a thing. Could be a firmware tweak to fix it honestly. Probably some dumb power saving garbage settings because reasons

I remember I saw someone mentioned here and confirmed that 64gb ram works fine. I also saw it in one of the BB review.
