I was waiting for a deal on this one because the same-price "Ultra" model has a thick cap containing the extra attachments, and that cap is more cumbersome and breaks open sometimes with the nozzles flying all over the place.

If your Waterpik hose broke, then don't buy a new Waterpik unit! You can buy a 3rd party hose and handle that screw into this unit. I actually like the 3rd party hose handles better because it uses a button instead of a switch to stop the water flow. That button allows you to have even more variable control over the stream, not unlike an Xbox controller trigger.

In my situation because the permanent metal in my mouth doesn't allow for floss to pass through, but this works great.

No, this is not a handheld bidet - most people don't use this on their bottom... That would hurt quite a lot - water pressure is quite strong. hug

I use both. They compliment each other. Water massage is good for the gums and cleans deeper.

These usually break when they aren't cleaned with vinegar periodically as stated in the instruction booklet.
