Stop spreading BS. I use S&S all the time. The first one is locked in at the price you pay at time of ordering. It literally gives you an order receipt with price on it. It's like a pending charge which completes upon shipment. Every other order goes by current price at shipment date.
Your first shipment is the price you originally order the item for....thereafter it's whatever it is at the time of shipping. Just order and then cancel the subscribe and save....done this 100s of times.
Is that new? I thought your first shipment was at the price at the time of order, then the price could go up/down on subsequent shipments.

No, there has been a change. If your first delivery is a couple weeks away and the price increases between the time you set up the order and when they ship (and charge), you're charged the higher price. Just happened to me.
I just got 8 items that were all discounted S&S Slickdeals finds and was never charged the updated prices. I do this every month, and they've never changed the prices on me for the first S&S shipment. Do you have any proof of this policy change? I feel like something might have gotten lost in translation or maybe they are just rolling the change out slowly?

Either way, I'm just confirming things are still fine on my end. I got these gloves on the last S&S deal, and they're holding up great with daily ranch use.

Yes, I have proof that the $10 coupon I clipped was applied initially and when the order shipped it was not. When I clicked on the item for sale, no coupon was available. You're confusing discount with coupon.

I haven't seen this but one thing I have noticed in recent months is that you have to click to change the shipping date on S&S orders to your next monthly delivery date or else it will ship the first order right away and create a separate schedule for that item. This makes it harder to get to 5 items on a single S&S order and thus get 15% off if you aren't careful. My guess is that Amazon is getting more stingy and is trying to make it slightly harder to get to 15%.

As well as changing the delivery date, I think, changing one's delivery address (even if just one text character difference) is enough to trigger a new subscription which will cancel your current month's items and reorder them at the updated prices (and remove any no-longer-available coupons). I've been burned by this a couple times.

I usually just get multipacks of nitrile dipped gloves, but thought I'd give these a shot. I have some carhartt knucklebusters that are great protection, but not very good for dexterity.

After receiving these, I can tell what others have said that the fingers quickly develop holes. Quality seems very low to me, I would never pay $20 for these. Even at $8, it's a huge stretch. Won't waste the time to return them, but will likely never buy Mechanix Wear gloves again, unless the price is good enough to warrant it.
Agreed. These develop holes quickly. I used them to sparingly. The original Mechanix gloves from years old still hold up. Even at $2 dollars I would skip these.

These things are trash, they didn't last 2 days of moving cardboard boxes without getting giant holes in them!

These are about as useful as 7mil nitrile gloves.

I noticed on the tactical gloves version that there's a $10/$40 promo even for the $12 range gloves which means all the men in my family are getting new work/gear gloves for Christmas this year. 😌 thanks OP

Careful if you subscribe and save. Amazon will raise the price you pay at time of shipment to the current price.

I have found the elastic on the wrist to be scratchy. Decent gloves but would not buy again.

This happened to me. S&S with a coupon and the coupon was gone days later just right before the order shipped. However, the disappearance of coupon is a completely different issue. I think there was a glitch in Amazon's system. Coupon was dropped off from the order after the item price was changed, but this does not change your lock-in price of your S&S items price for the first delivery.

Quote from keyserkeyser :
Wrong, which makes you incorrect. In my example there was a $10 off coupon. When the order shipped two weeks later, the $10 coupon was gone. Many Amazon products have click-the-coupon and then invite you to save 5-15% more through Subscribe & Save. If they eliminate the coupon before the order ships, guess what happens.

These are basically disposable but the tactile feel is pretty good. Great when you just want to protect from dirt and scratches and splinters. Not made for demolition or heavy work.

Anyone have a recommendation for gloves with good tactile feedback that aren't throwaways?
