This is OLED and it's a wider aspect ratio. You're giving up height and getting width. But this is an OLED panel - deeper blacks and better contrast/color representation, generally, than a similar LED.
4k is higher resolution and will improve some things - but you'll be able to run this monitor at a higher refresh rate and that will improve motion and perception of quality. 4K is hard for most graphics cards to push.
FWIW, I had the Samsung G7 4K monitor and returned it and replaced with this. I much prefer this from a picture quality standpoint.

Additionally, LEDs are silicon... light emitting diodes, they are considered hardware.
If the screen is only going to be used for gaming (console gaming + PC gaming) a 16:9 OLED could work just fine.
This is a very highly reviewed monitor. rtings basically lists it as the best overall monitor. TomsHardware ranks it in their top 3 monitors. Their favorite OLED monitor.
But the cashback at Dell is no longer 18%. That ended today,

Thank you very much! I appreciate your input! I see now it's 10 percent Cash Back. Maybe I'll wait for cyber Monday.

Has comparisons between the old and new model, along with a "year later" update, and firmware update, and comparisons with other OLEDs as well, all in various videos.
OLED is amazing, yes, but I still don't think the tech is quite there yet for a desktop display (especially in modern Windows with M$'s bad font rendering). Maybe in 2024.
Also, for gaming and movie watching, get an ultrawide. 16:9 has been nothing but a downgrade ever since 16:10 monitors started going the way of the dodo. For desktop work, vertical space matters. Wish 21:10 monitors existed; best of both worlds...

But looks like I don't have any Dell offers. Neither the $40 off $200 or $120 off $600.
Pretty bummed.
With the 18% cashback, it brings it down to around the same price (i.e. ~$660) as it was earlier this year. Difference is is there's now a $100 gift card, but people in the 38" Alienware thread I think are saying they are fighting dell for that gift card supposedly.
now, make sure you are logged in when making the purchase because i wonder if that is possibly causing issues
- I turn it off when I don't plan to use it for an extended amount of time
- I'll activate the pixel refresh maybe once or twice a day, ignoring the 4 hour auto request
- I have wallpaper/background set to change every minute with shuffle on
I have one already and was wondering if it's worth running as dual.

It depends on the scale of "need" another monitor is to you. I've stayed away from that monitor because.... well, IPS LEDs have existed for over 10 years now. They've reached a peak. OLED raises the bar. Lots of new OLEDs are coming in 2024. I imagine IPS LEDs will get discounted more.
Here's RTINGS comparing the two monitors (that 38" IPS LED vs the 34" OLED)
