Might not be helpful to everyone since it requires Spectrum internet, but if you happen to have that already, they're now selling the Pixel 8 for $349 (Pixel 8 Pro is still $399, but all three colors are showing as OOS) You can buy it on a 36mo installment plan if you want, but you can just pay the full $349 and own the phone outright. According to the terms of the payment plan, you only finance the $349, there are no bill credit shenanigans like with VZW/TMo/ATT. For people without a trade, it's the best price we've seen so far.
Requires activation to get the deal. Cheapest plan is $15/mo, and since Spectrum runs on VZW, the phone unlocks after 60 days.
TIV for a Pixel 7 is not great ($255 at the moment), but average sale price on Swappa right now is $300ish, so it's close to what you'd net from selling the phone yourself. Comes out to $96 for an upgrade to the newest generation.

According to the terms, you can do the 36mo installment plan and just pay the remaining balance if you leave Spectrum. No bill credits like the major carriers. Still seems better to just pay up front, but it is there as an option.

Trade in values are terrible though. I was offered $35 for a Pixel 5 and $130 for a Pixel 7. They add $100 promotional value to the above prices
Just did the pixel 8 pro, (now expired offer) which was $600 off the price with trade in.
Sent in basically new in box Samsung s23 for $325 plus the $100 additional trade in.
So $1000 + tax and fees - $600 offer - $325 trade in - $100 additional trade in offer
Ordered 11/30. Sent in trade in on 12/6. Got confirmation 12/14.
Hope this helps.
Why get the Pixel 8 now when the Pro was available for months for $50 more…
