Purchased one of these a couple weeks ago at the same price for BF/Cyber Monday and I'm very happy with it so far. Great looking screen, snappy performance, feels solidly built, good battery life so far and not a ton of bloatware. I would recommend it for a non dedicated gaming all around solid performer.

Absolutely not.
This is only the 4th or 5th time that it's going for this price, I reckon, 2-3 of those times were in this holiday season and the other times was months ago, not "every other week".

They put it at this price coz it sells so much. Everytime this deal has at this price has made it to FP, over here. Also, the fact that it's going for this price often is a foreshadowing that it might get even $50 cheaper than this by Christmas.

Very few ultra books have GPU. Not everyone needs or wants want. .
Either way, you won't find a better laptop at this price. This has set the bar for new pricing. Laptops have crashed in price through 2023, finally.

Nope. Been watch it for a while now the other time was not a month ago. It was basically last week or so.

I don't understand your second point. If $699 will sale well then why not just keep it at that price point? People will continue to buy then? Right?

Also not saying it a bad laptop. But at some point you just have to wonder why. Also not trying to start anything. If someone wants to come out say just say this is a "market thing and that's how you get people to buy things" I'm fine with that too. But there is no point arguing about oh it's not every other week it's a month ago and such. Let's just put it this way it's on front page often enough that I don't feel $699 is a new deal anymore.
I can't help launching when reading this

Costco had a similar Asus 14.5 Laptop on sale, just about the same specs and price, since about summer. Don't think they have it anymore. But the RAM was LPDDR4, not LPDDR5 like this one at BestBuy. I would switch if this had GPU. Instead I got an Asus for $750, 15.6, I7 13620H, GPU, all else about the same, but definitely heavier. But like it so far, need to continue more testing. I have another month to return if I don't fall in love with it, lol. I had an Asus for almost 7 years. Only issue is fan rattles when it fires up, which it does more frequently in recent years. Original battery life was supposed to be up to 6 hours. Never got more than 2. Based on my personal experience, and reading reviews, expect only a third of Asus' stated battery life. Fortunately for me, I did not have any issues with the laptop itself. It has performed better than Dells did for me. Not a scientific review, just my personal one. Good luck.

Yep, creating artificial demand lol.

On sale for $700 since July =P.
The real question is whether there's a better laptop at this price range ($700)?

Just got the laptop, the grainy effect everyone is talking about isn't bad as they were making it out to be O.o.

Noticeable only when viewing white or bright green and you have to be like 6 inches away from the screen. Even then it's barely noticeable.

That's not the point that they are trying to make. No one is saying this is not a good laptop. The point is this laptop is constantly on sale. Which makes the lower price artificial and is just a way to get people to buy.

Someone mentioned the screen has a texture to it and is most readily seen on white backgrounds. Have you noticed that?
This is the rumor that gets repeated and repeated until people think it must be true.

I have had this exact laptop for about six weeks. I do not see any graininess in the screen or other problems. It's great for watching high resolution video and has very vivid colors.

I have been completely happy with this laptop.

Bought this in October on sale, replaced the OEM micron nvme drive with Samsung 990 pro 2tb and it's a fantastic machine. Zero regrets and I'm a picky tech nerd.

Can you comment on battery life?

We have the 8GB 14" version, and an Alienware x14 we paid $620 for after cash back. I prefer the Alienware for the 3050 since the kids game on it, build quality is also better. The Iris Xe sucks for games cause it run so hot and loud. The screen is much better than the Alienware of course.

Alienware x14 with 3050 for $620, but that was a rare deal combining $120 Amex and $95 website cash back. Haven't seen that deal since I got it this summer.

And that's only better if you want to play games.

Also the 14.5" screen is a nice compromise instead of the jump in weight and size to 15.6".

Honestly we only charged it only a few times so far and haven't calculated the total hours per charge but it seemed on par with the estimated 6-7 hours battery life Windows gave.
Now of course that will vary with the type of usage, web browsing vs watching videos for example.

FYI. If you buy this from Best Buy, you can only get it serviced by Geek Squad. Asus will not work with you directly even if you only have the manufacturer warranty.

Comparing a QHD+ OLED Touch notebook with a 13th Gen processor to an FHD IPS non-touch 12th Gen processor gaming laptop.
Absolutely genius!

I happen to have both styles of laptop, thought it might be useful for people to know. Or would you rather they buy this blind thinking they can do a little gaming with it?

My kid played Roblox on our Zenbook OLED and while the frame rate was fine, the fan got crazy loud and the laptop ran hot. The laptop burned out in 10 months too.

Just warning people who might think a Zenbook OLED is ok for low quality gaming like Roblox. It's not.
