I'd practice setting these up on a regular tree before venturing over to a palm.

With a safety harness and lineman's belt; you can probably climb any tree.

The issue you'll have is with the bark of the tree. Usually these type of steps need to be put in place with a little bit of leeway for them to slide down snug an inch or two after you get them to the desired height.

Once you get them to your desired height, then when you step onto them you want to use your weight to snug them more secure to the tree. That's where they'll slide down usually an inch or two. The more slack, the more it will slide.

The interlocking vertical bark may pose a problem. So, testing it out on low ground before is a must.

Seeing how they fit on regular bark trees will y is smaller than about 8-10" or whatever the width of the steps is.

Keeping about 2-3 points of contact with the belt on is about what you need to feel secure to the tree when doing activities while hanging from the tree. It keeps you from spinning or losing balance. So a foot and a knee is probably fine.

Then with your upper body you should be good to use your pole saw. Just leave it on the ground and use a rope to pull it up to you in the tree, this keeps you from having to detach from the tree and climb down after you reach the desired height.
IDK man...Part of me wants to say "F**k yea...go for it." But I climbed cell towers for a decade and I'm very well versed in fall protection. And I've personally seen so many Darwin moments of people I'VE TRAINED working at height that I'm very hesitant to say this is a good idea. But I reckon, if you plan on also getting a harness and you're moderately athletic, go for it. If you don't also plan on getting a harness and think you're gonna manage it one handed or using a leg lock on the ladder so that you can work with both hands...you're setting yourself up for failure. And failure might end up being a trip to the hospital.

Anyone have experience with this item? I think it can help me save money and I can get high enough to cut the coconuts myself.

Very good deal!!! I will get some and see if I want to use them with a saddle setup. I used steel ones with a hang on that are decent... but these are aluminum. I just went scouting a few days ago and found a tree I would like to hunt next season.

great deal!

I bought them, should work for a more permanent stand. Off season I plan on using them for my kids tree house.

Always cracks me up, the example trees they use for climbing sticks. With a climber you could go up a pole like that up to 20+ feet and really be out of view and scent overtop and dispersed. Not 12-15 ft with climbing sticks. Sticks and hangons make sense for some trees but a climber is so much safer/easier/better for a tree like that.

That is cheap but almost certainly those sticks and straps are made in China.

I'm not only confused but also astonished by your lack of knowledge about this stuff and why it's advertised this way.

Head scratching.

There's gonna be limitations to the different types of equipment, that's why they were made. But don't deceive others with misrepresenting the use of the products here.

Purchased mine and received them already. Well worth the price to have an extra set of climbing sticks at the camp.
