Lol. No. You do not. I have no idea where you're getting that info. For uncompressed Atmos, you need eARC. You absolutely get Atmos through plain ARC, without HDMI 2.1, albeit compressed. Stop spouting misinformation. Atmos has been around since before HDMI 2.1. Are you saying no one got Atmos for the first 5 years that it existed? The vast majority of TVs don't even have 2.1 or eARC. You're saying hardly anyone can get Atmos, which is completely false. Before I had my LG C2, I had a crappy LG LED 4K TV, with an Atmos soundbar system that only had ARC, not eARC, and I got Atmos through it. It was compressed, so it didn't sound as good, but it was still Atmos. You're basically telling me that all of the overhead sounds that I heard weren't actually there. Lol. A lot of low to mid tier Atmos soundbar systems don't have eARC. You're either making stuff up as you go along, or you've been very misinformed. Either way, you're straight up wrong, and I'm not wasting anymore time with you. I just hope other people don't listen to you. You have no idea what you're talking about.
This tv is regularly priced at 550, not really a screaming deal but still a solid price for a 60 hz OLED
You don't need 2.1 for Dolby Digital Plus or Atmos. Lol. 2.1 is needed for 120hz gaming, but this TV is only 60hz anyways. Whatever sound system you get just has to have support for Atmos and Digital Plus, and then you just use the regular HDMI Arc port, and you'll get both. It's optical that can't support Atmos or Digital Plus.

Given the units age, strange this hasnt dropped below $550 by now
you should see the ridiculous sony prices. Their 48 inch one that came out around SAME TIME as this one is still ridiculously $1,399. I mean it/'s not 60ghz, though, but still ridiculous it's not ever on sale for much off.

Where did I say I say anything about TVs in this price range? I didn't. I said budget TVs. I even specified budget LED TVs. Not Mini LED or anything like that. The very vast majority of which are 270nits-400nits. SOME budget TVs get brighter than this, but they also have terrible picture. I was using budget regular LED TVs as an example of why this TV will be ok in a bright room, because almost all of those budget TVs are very dim, and everyone has been fine with that, and this is brighter than those ones that people have been fine with. I'm not sure how you read my comment, but you definitely misunderstood it.
not necessarily replying to exactly what you are saying, just something to add on to the forum. and there's no such thing as a 'budget' mini led. the point is this tv is pretty dim, along with most oled's.

If this person is this fired about about this, think about how their family and friends enjoy discussions with them.
