I picked this TV up a couple weeks back. Excellent blacks and colors. Football and basketball both look great as does Nintendo Switch (I know, not exactly the pinnacle of video game graphics). Love the picture.
nope you'd have to buy the geeksquad warranty which is worth every penny imo. if you do get burn-in within the geeksquad warranty period, they send someone to your home and check for the burn-in and give you your money back no questions asked, they don't waste your time if something does go wrong.
60fps still looks very smooth in gaming. Only time I wouldn't recommend it is if you were coming from a 120hz screen already. But personally coming from a 60hz TCL, I'd upgrade to this OLED TV over a non-OLED 120hZ.

Dumb question I'm sure, but have all the new OLEDs dropped 3D capabilities?

I dare to type that you are the prefect demographic for this TV. If someone wants an OLED but will not have a PS5/XSX hooked up to it to use the 4K/120hz HDMI ports....the A2 is perfect. Too many times folks want others to just "spend a bit more" to get the B2/C2/G2 (I have a G2) but the A2 is more than what they need.

Similar to this year. If I needed another TV, I'd likely go C3 or even B3 if the price was too good to pass up as every room isn't a SUPER room that requires the best of the best.

Can you smartcast from your phone to this TV?
You can, but I personally recommend getting ANY streaming device under the sun as the smart apps on this TV can be...lacking. For example, no ESPN or a few others that every other streaming platform houses. I was shocked.

A cheap Roku 4K stick would behoove you vs the built-in experience unless you only use the most popular apps.

Note: there is a web browser but again, an actual app is much better.

My parents gave me a budget of $1k including the warranty for a new TV. So basically the only reason I just got the C2 65in was my local Best Buy had one open box for $843. It was complete in box but missing a screw for the stand. The rep at the outlet Best Buy told me exactly what it was missing and stated it wasn't used at all. Its stated total hours on as 0 too.

Since they live with me, and this is used in the living room, I could definitely put my spare Series X on it, but they're not gamers and I have a dedicated 4k player they can use.

But nonetheless this A2 is very solid. They have an open box one near me too, I may go check it out.

I wonder if there are support groups for owners of OLED TVs … it can be healthy to love your TV this much. I want to hug my C2 but scared of cracking it, it is soooo beautiful.

I'm guessing the A2 uses a slower processor, but I find the smart apps on my C2 somewhere between adequate and great. I have a first gen Apple TV 4K and only use it to watch Twitch occasionally. You don't have to worry about changing the frame rate, or audio/video sync, overblown luminance with Dolby Vision, etc.

Unless you are used to using the latest iPhone Max with super snappy movement, etc., the LG webOS will be fine.

If it was C2, right on for one.

Just bought this TV yesterday due to this post and I've been looking specifically for a 48" for my bedroom and right out of the box I'm not impressed. It's too dark and everything that has even a hint of shadow is completely blacked out and loses all definition. I've been playing with settings, watching YouTube set-up guides and even looking up Rting.com's calibration settings and it still doesn't look good. I must be missing something because this 48" LG OLED should be a noticeable upgrade from my TLC 6 series QLED / mini LED, right?

Same experience - here is the fix:

Turn off energy saving (overall picture much brighter) under All Settings -> General -> OLED Care -> Device Self Care -> Energy Saving

Use "ISF Expert (Bright Room)" mode (extra brightness) under Picture -> Picture Mode Settings -> Picture Mode

Also turn tone mapping on, and if you're setting the TV up in a really bright room, and it will be in a really bright room often, yeah you may want to try a C3 instead. the A2 isn't nearly as bright as my C8 from 2018.

I got this recently, very impressed but it would not connect to my eero wifi 6 network. Pretty annoying. Gotta run hard wire. Apparently these LGs are known to have cheap wifi radios. Otherwise it's quite nice, impressive build quality, lots of metal and glass- quite heavy. Super deep blacks, surprised by decent speakers in there too.

How's the lag if using as PC monitor?
fantastic. just put it in PC mode to reduce the input lag. Great for 60fps gaming, and action games due to its low input lag and motion blur.

Any of these TVs have the NextGen tuner? It would be great to pick up 4K broadcast TV.

I have this TV for the bedroom. At $550, I'd say it's the perfect TV for a bedroom especially if you're limited on space and 48 inches is as big as you can go. This was the case for me.

What are you missing buying the LG A series OLED (ie versus the C series)? 1) Processing: The A series uses LG's α7 Gen 5 processor vs the α9 AI Processor of the C2. 2) Sound: The speakers are "tinny" (I added a Sonos Beam Gen2Smilie. 3) 60hrtz versus 120 4) brightness: The A series does not get as bright as the C series (ie reflected in HDR and Dolby Vision viewing)….but great for a dark bedroom where you don't want your eyeballs scorched anyway 😊

You do get that gorgeous OLED display with deep blacks and perfect viewing angle…no difference here than the C series.
