Question of the year. Can't go wrong with either. I personally prefer the white color of this rig but slim 5 is the shiny new toy in the mkt vs this was released a few years past.

Slim 5 16's screen isn't that great but 14 has Oled 400 nits vs this one is wqxga 500 nits. If you work outside in sunny or bright weather, get this one otherwise people prefer OLEDs for color fidelity. 400 nits is a decent enough brightness although i prefer atleast 500 nits.

This one is a bit more 'gamey' looking than slim 5 if you travel a lot & it matters.

either way its irrelevant. I have a legion 7 slim that still has 16gb of ram (havent bothered to upgrade it) and guess what? It works just fine at everything i ask of it. I play FH5, Rocket League, Minecraft, Warzone, Fortnite. And they all run very well. 16gb is enough

yes. I have this exact model from BestBuy, it comes soldered 16GB DDR5 RAM (4800MHz), so got another Crucial RAM 16GB DDR5 RAM (4800MHz) from amazon, total becoming 32GB dual channel RAM.
there are tons of post in YouTube and Reddit (search for ZephyrusG14) about RAM upgrade. Some people have older model of G14, which comes with 8GB soldered, and 8GB non-soldered, so when they add another 16GB (or 24gb etc), only 16gb will be dual channel, but Luckly this comes with soldered 16GB, so you have one empty slot to add another 16gb and maintain 32gb dual channel RAM configuration.

keep in mind, some people say; it comes 8GB soldered and 8GB non-soldered, but it is not true, all Model:GA402XV-G14.R94060 @bestbuy comes with soldered 16GB DDR5 RAM and have one empty slot available.
Also based on my readings and research, being this RAM is DDR5, DDR5 can be dual or quad channel. So soldered 16GB DDR5 RAM (without adding another one) is dual channel, and now adding another 16GB RAM to this laptop makes it quad channel (16 x16), I do not know, but checking HWinfO64, it shows as dual channel 32GB.

yes same, playing games for hours and no issue whatsoever, it just fans come out very often and can be loud and laptop gets hot, but that's typical for gaming laptop :-)
