My friend bought this and I helped set it up, etc. Here's some information some may find useful.

- The 16GB is soldered to the motherboard but there is a free DIMM slot. We populated with a Micron 16GB module that had similar chips.
- This RTX 4060 model runs cooler than the previous gen with the AMD RX6700/6800
- This one came with a Western Digital SSD. We replaced with Samsung 990 Pro 2TB.
- Screen is a Tianma TL140ADXP02-0 model but I have yet to find any detailed info on it (there is a DP01 model in the previous model G14)
- The wifi card is a MediaTek model. YMMV but we had bluetooth issues with this card and subsequently swapped in an Intel AX210. We confirmed the AX210 does work in this laptop.
- There is a very helpful software called "GHelper" which aims to replace the Armoury Crate software and allows selecting of power profiles and switching of the graphics. I highly recommend downloading this as it is a very light and fast interface. It also assists with software, driver and bios updates for the laptop as well as other model Asus including the ROG Flow series.
- The microSD card slot is USB3 speed.
- We ran a benchmark (Unigine Superposition) and it scored 6220 with an average FPS of 46.5, 1080p extreme setting. Performance is very decent.

I hope this information is useful Smilie

Did you guys have a 6700/6800 to compare against? Just wondering if performance really does trail the previous generation (AMD) in several different workloads.

4060 is ~= to 3070 but lower power consumption.
If you are looking for raw performance, wait till the next gen, or go for 4080. The 4070 laptop is only 15% faster than the 4060, which is not worth it.

I feel like QHD+ on a 14" screen is a bit overkill. I'd rather compromise with a lower resolution and higher performance.

You can play the game at FHD or change the native res to 1080. But I prefer QHD for productivity

1200p because it's a 16:10 screen. But playing at non-native resolutions that don't scale properly results in a blurrier image in general. Probably not super noticeable at this screen size but technically it's not going to be as sharp as say running 1080p on a 4K screen.

1080p doesnt scale to QHD properly, so anyone that cares about image quality will absolutely not want to do that. You'd have to play games in a window to maintain good image quality. I would not recommend this laptop for gaming.

Swapping out this much hardware at this price for entry almost seems like you should have just gone with a more expensive laptop and kept the warranty.

I'd say the only unnecessary upgrade was the SSD.

Reviews for the 4090 model, but you can scale back for the 4060. Obviously, still a very fast system for the price range.
