I went back and looked at my last 5 years ordering premier and it was $55 every year. This isn't a deal you are just paying for the gift card.

Each year Amazon matches Costco's after Christmas price. Amazon's total price includes a $10 gift card and Costco's price includes a $10 credit. If you pay to e-file state, both cost effectively the same. If you don't e-file state and have no use for the $10 TurboTax credit, then Amazon is the better deal. (In 2021 Amazon had a price mistake on Premier so it was priced the same as Deluxe for several hours.)

you need to talk to a tax person not SD folks.. we can tell you if a deal is good or bad , asking for tax advice is a very very bad idea.

As per Koolwadz said, you should always consult a qualified tax person, not ask strangers on SD for tax advice.

Having said that, I assume you have used TT to file, so did you follow the Intuit TT process described here? https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-t.../L4NnMuKQM

Unless the pricing changed, it's $75 for the giftcard version which is $10 more expensive, makes no sense to buy that

How is this different than filing via their web application? The software does an e-file for Fedaral and would it provide me a PDF that I need to download and physically mail to the State?

I used their web app many times, but I'm not sure how purchasing software would work.

I've bought Premier the past few years because I was under the impression it was needed for investments and rental property. However, I'm reading from other posts that Deluxe can do basically everything Premier can do and it's just a marketing difference. Anyone know the actual differences between Deluxe and Premier beyond TT's website marketing?
