Yamaha build quality for the $ makes them a great choice! For acoustic players, their thinline APX series are a great choice as well. Love the P90 in this one too.
Thanks OP. Great deal.
FYI they also have the Nick Johnston on sale for <600.
I am picking this over that.

1) Its nut is 41mm wide, among the narrowest I've seen.
2) It comes with Graph Tech saddles. While the saddles have some benefits (sustain, string longevity), their points of contact with the strings are not actually metal. This means the tuners, strings, and ferrules will not be grounded, which increases the guitar's noise floor.

For a Humbucker alternative to your single coil axe. And a matte black body. And that's no hard tail.
Addendum: This eBay guitar arrived and it's beautiful. there is no scratch on it and everything is well fitted. other than simply tuning it and especially stretching and the strings which you can do by playing them in and re-tuning and the thing is already set up and playing just fine. The fret ends are not a problem but I could of course make them smoother. It came with the floating trim locked down so if you wanted that there's nothing to do. I will be custom setting tension, balance and return of the floating Trem bridge. Also fine tuning the intonation, only slightly imperfect on a few strings. More setup already done out of the box than I would expect. The plastic nut surprised me and is awesome with excellent low action in concert with the flat neck that requires no adjustment at all. The nice looking black tuner keys did feel slightly plasticky, unlike other Chrome versions however. I think they are metal and work great. Humbuckers have a typical cheap plasticky border but the coils looks great. The satin back neck and wood grain is extremely nice I'm very pleased with that. It plays and feels exactly like my three single coil eBay guitar. The three-way switch has a really nice high end thunk to the positions. And knobs are smooth turning.
