I was going to buy two sets. One for emergency back up lights for the kitchen and living room since they pull 18W. It would last for quite a while on my battery backup. But after reading reviews and posts from others on the last front page deal I decided to skip these. I don't want to have to pull them down after a few months when they burn out.
Thanks SD staff for linking last front page deal. helped me see that these are junk.

None of these are compatible with Google Home or any other assistant. Are they? Also, these have the light clusters like a mile apart from each other. So it's not like you're getting great coverage or anything. I guess the farther away it is from whatever your lighting probably the better. So the lights can bleed like if you have it on the floor facing straight up. But if you have it on the underside of the lip of your cabinets on the floor to light the kitchen, it's going to look like little spotlights every foot or so.
I don't know this line really well and I'm pretty versed on the hues. There's another branch of this product that is the one that you would want if you cared about quality or controlling and I don't remember the name. Somebody told me so if anybody understands what I'm talking about it would be helpful. I think they could do at least:
1. Proper white with a separate WLED
2. The lights per foot are a much higher density but I don't know the number
3. Works with smart assistance and Google Home
Can anyone suggest 100' of LEDs that have the old-school close spacing? It seems like all of the ones I look at on Amazon that are at least 100' are very widely spaced apart.

Yeah . I made the mistake of buying into the Govee brand and am very disappointed 😞. Noticeably not as bright and widely spaced. Also, even for the shorter length, it uses AC plug vs USB with off brand strips. Govee truly dropped the ball on their light strips and cheaped out.

Regular or higher density LED at 12v will require power every 32 feet or so for uniform lighting. Since regular RGB is analog, it's usually just as cheap to get a controller and power supply every 32 feet as it would be to get amplifier based power injectors and power supplies at the same interval.
Find the LEDs you want in standard sized strips (and with the diode density actually specified) and build out an install, don't go looking for super long pre packaged sets unless it's from a lighting installer that's putting together custom packages correctly balancing the power across the chain. And don't just keep chaining extender connectors to a strip, even if you get a higher wattage power supply that theoretically could handle the full power draw, unless you're at least moving up to 24v strips, and even then there are limits.
Any RGB LED strips that are 12v power and longer than 16ft (5m)/32ft are immediately suspicious for what the actual diode density will be: sure you might get 100', but it's not going to be more diodes on that 100' than at most a pair of 5m strips, and it's probably less. I'm sure there's a viable use for these, but definitely an unpleasant surprise if you're expecting nice contiguous lighting instead of spaced out weak blips that no diffuser is going to compensate for.
I got these a while back. I ended up replacing the controller with a Zigbee LED Controller. I have them around my desk and around my dumbbell rack. They aren't as nice as hue but they look good and at this price range, I don't feel bad cutting them.
I got these recently and not very impressed with its brightness options and the spacing of each LED. For every 2 inches there is ONE LED. Obviously, since there is no remote, you have to control it with Bluetooth or from the controller. The strip feels cheap and very thin
