SlickdealsForumsHot DealsCostco members: Samsung 28 cu. ft. 4-Door French Door SS Refrigerator with FlexZone Drawer. Free delivery/install/haul $999.99
Costco dropped their Samsung 28cu. ft. 4 door flex temp drawer (beverage drawer) refrigerator to $999.99. Comes with free delivery/basic install/haul away. 3 year Allstate coverage (making 5 years total) is only $89. Should keep them busy with the external ice dispenser design flaw on all of these.
model: RF28R7201SR
Stainless steel is the one dropped to $999.99. Black stainless is still at their 1299.97 clearance price.
Caution: for those who haven't had to shop for a refrigerator in a long while. French door models with ice dispensers on the door are notorious for mechanical problems. Ice compartments battle to maintain freezing temperatures in higher temperature refrigerated sections causing melted-ice puddles on the floor and failed ice dispensing units. This is true of all manufacturers. Many French door models offer internal water dispensers or "beverage centers" and an ice maker in the lower freezer section (where it makes sense). Cheers!
Looks like a solid deal but its sammy….
No to Samsung fridges

I have had 2 friends basically lemon law their Samsung refrigerators after losing full fridges a few times and it taking months for a repair. Why Costco still sells these POS is beyond me.
WARNING: This is according to samsung a model that was only produced in 2019. So it is 5 years old. Expect plastic seals and tubes, and many other things to not function as long as you would expect. I would not buy this, and it is definitely not a good deal.
Yes, it is a rant:
And also, since it has no display, you have to install the samsung app, and buy into all the samsung home control incompetence. And to find the fridge you have to go through two step verification, navigate to the house, then to the room. Then confirm privacy note, allow app to be updated, dismiss some popups about samsung smart things, and a reminder about the water filter.
Now you can FINALLY adjust the fridge to power cool after you load it up with fresh groceries.
Also, everytime I come home with groceries, and load up the fridge the doors are left open for a little, and all your devices will get messages and beep.
Then the samsung wizard give you ongoing suggestions like "Add food in your fridge to be on top of it"
Then samsung homcareWizard gives you a weekly report to proactively keep the fridge working. Every week samsung has a Proactive message.
And you can not turn these messages off.
I now hate the word "Proactive".
What the h**l does it even mean? Example: "Hi, lets drive to Granma 100 miles away, and start with an empty tank. NO, lets be Proactive and fill the tank BEFORE we drive" or "I will just stumble down the stairs in front of me because i did not look ahead, NO, lets be Proactive and look ahead so we see them before we fall down"
I feel like at this point everyone knows TV brand (samsung in particular) fridges are the worst "deals" possible. Count me in the club of defective Sumsung fridges .

FYI: I did order this and got it. but it failed within few days. Heavy frost building up in the freezer. Costco can't replace it as they are out of stock. Well, quite disappointed but true to the Samsung reviews. I had bought this to replace my more than 15-20yr old Maytag which was still working which I moved to garage. Seems i will have to move it back from the garage back to kitchen.
It seems all the RF series models could have same or similar problems including the model in OP's post.
I recommend asking an appliance repair shop if they recommend this and what result you might expect. It seems plausible that keeping the ice dispenser turned off would prevent problems with puddles on the floor.
I pulled the trigger despite all warnings from the SD Family. My Whirlpool is officially unreliable and this is my price point with a 5 year warranty. This qualifies for no sales tax until 6/2024 in Florida.
Looking to buy a refrigerator in the next few weeks. Are Costco refrigerator prices in general good enough to warrant paying for a membership?
Yes. Costco offers an extra year warranty on appliances, free delivery, free installation, free haul away, price protection, and free basic parts. Their prices are usually competitive if not better in the long run.The basic membership is only $60 and if you get it through stacksocial, groupon, or other like sites it is usually offered with $40 gift card. You can cancel your membership at any time. I bought my membership because of appliance reasons, return policies, and diapers/wipes.
My fridge broke on Friday. I pulled the trigger on this and bought the All State warranty. My BofA cash card also gives an extended warranty for an extra year. Let us see how this works for me.
I have a width space of exactly 36 inches .. does it will fit in ? or the width in specs of 35.75 inch is very accurate ?
The depth in my space is 27 inches and so Doors will open fine

Did you buy the Allstate warranty directly from Allstate or through Costco, I did not see any option to buy third party warranty while checking out. Thanks!

Through Costco. Please search for item # 1051899 and add this to cart. You have until 90 days to buy the Allstate warranty after buying the appliance. Enjoy.
Samsung is absolute garbage. Have a Samsung refrigerator, and after only 3 years literally every rack inside is cracked or broken because it's all brittle plastic. I haven't had trouble with the water/ice dispenser luckily, but every single Samsung appliance I've had has had to have major replacements within a year or two. TV had to be completely replaced (and because of their warranty process I was stuck without a TV for 2-3 months), washer was recalled, dryer within 3 years I've had to replace the tensioner pulley once and heating element twice, and the refrigerator. Save yourself the time and money and just get a different brand.
As a Samsung Refrigerator owner, I know how crappy they are, but, even though I hate being the one to have to tell you this, but none of the name brands make decent refrigerators now.

What if you never turn on or use the ice maker?
This model was on sale at my local warehouse for $999.99 (as of yesterday)
