Tip: If you buy from Best Buy- add the plus membership to your order for $50. It'll extend your return period from 15 days to 60 for peace of mind in case the U8K comes back on sale or if you decide you just don't like it. You can cancel the membership within 60 days of purchasing it for a full refund.

Just got mine and installed with a friend on Saturday. Best TV I've ever had and trust me. I've gone through a lot over the years. I just bought a cheap $45 thin line wall mount from Amazon five stars all the way for the price especially if you bundle it in with a Best Buy reward card and zero interest for 24 months

Got mine on Saturday and put it up with two people easy Peezy it takes basic mounting brackets that you can get off Amazon and yes, they support the weight. I've only really use Samsung and LG TVs but I am now a fan of the Google TV format for sure very easy to use intuitive and even has Google assist

I ordered the tcl s5 98 on bestbuy. But looking at the power specs on Bestbuy it states 390 kWh, with an estimated $72 annual cost and it's not energy star rated. Is this normal for a tv this size? I'm not as much concerned with the energy costs itself but the longevity since higher power means more heat and electronic wear over time which seems to be the leading cause of failure. Am I overthinking this? Will this tv last 7+ years?

Well I have the tcl s5 98" in one room and getting this Hisense installed Thursday in another. Tcl is really good, bright, I watch it on Apple TV, if you watch low quality content it's noticeable in bright scenes. Sony would be better in that regard there not even close to same price so it's not apples to apples. Frankly coming from a projector anything blows it out of water with lights on.

Insane that SD has the same thread for two different TV's. Makes no sense and creates confusing commentary.

I can help summarize as I read most of it, basically most of the pages are Hisense is newer, better, larger, a huge abomount of posts about how to return the TLC and get the Hisense, then some about the moiunts to buy for the Hisense . SO far no one says I'm getting or keeping the TLC over the Hisense.

U8K is better if you can get it for $3k like it was before - but it's not in stock anywhere. Supposed to be back next month though.

I'm ok with the thread having both the TCL 98S550G and the Hisense 100U76N. You have two entry ~100" TVs competing for the same market place at the same price. I would be interested to see how someone whom has had the TCL and then got the Hisense, what their thoughts on how these 2 TVs stack up. The Hisense has some advantages like a 2 year warranty and ATCS 3.0 tuner that are easy to see. However, picture quality is subjective. The Hisense has the specs for a better picture, but do those specs translate into real life higher quality picture quality or perhaps the TCL has a better picture quality even not have the "better" specs.
