Tip: If you buy from Best Buy- add the plus membership to your order for $50. It'll extend your return period from 15 days to 60 for peace of mind in case the U8K comes back on sale or if you decide you just don't like it. You can cancel the membership within 60 days of purchasing it for a full refund.

It's so weird anybody that says something positive about the TCL gets downvoted.
most people are just tech spec monkeys reciting them like mantras. no FALD. no QLED. no mini LED. no quantum dot. max brightness nit?

i don't know how but the TCL98 manages to produce an awesome picture without all those things must be magic.

I just measured mine at 14" from the top mounting hole to the top of the TV bezel, might be off by half an inch either way, since it's hard to measure exactly when it's already mounted
Thank you very much. I feel like I had seen someone say it was 14.x on center for top mounting holes; just couldn't find it at this point.

I just painters tape laid out the TV on my wall, and wanted to see roughly where the mount was going. Going in a perfect spot. I installed a recessed media panel in my wall, and it looks like I have roughly 1.5" of play above it for the mount

We have yet to see a real deal comparison between the two. Hopefully this weekend.

This is the one I got from Walmart: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mount-.../199105790 - $40 and it worked great! Delivered in two days for me. The best buy installers did really have to crank down the little handles that prevent the TV from tilting, but it's been holding well the past day event with some pretty intense bass from my Samsung 950T soundbar and sub!
That's what I always have to do with those cheaper mounts - have them on the two other TVs. Needed a really wide mount for this one and the only one I found was like $250 ($150 on sale) and I can just tilt it whenever - no cranks or screws to mess with!

Though I do wish I would have looked a little more to see if there's one that would pull out slightly from the wall and angle a little. Like semi-full motion.

Mine's mounted so I couldn't measure it accurately. But it seems like it's maybe 5-6ft.

The power cord plugs into the TV on the bottom right side, the HDMI and other ports are on left side.

Some of these comments feel like a TCL vs Hisense war jeez. I wish I could bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy.

They're both cheap 100" TVs and both look good. If you want to move up to a different brand you'll be paying a lot more. Each one has their own pros and cons.

If you're not a videophile or accustomed to OLED or high end TVs these should both be good options.

Yup, my power cord was only 6' long and on the opposite side as the HDMI's. Definitely something to take into consideration since the power cord is shorter than the width of the TV overall! I had hoped they would at least sent a 10'.

I wouldn't call them spec monkeys, but I would have to say the proof is when you see the picture in person. You have the same thing with people saying the 100U8K is much better than the 100U76N. OK I say , please define "better". LOL The three things for me that are definitely better on the 100U76M versus the TCL are 2" or 4% larger, ATSC 3.0 tuner, and 2 year warranty. Those are advantages that the 100U76N has.

The reviews seem to say the picture is better on the 1000U76N, but how much "better". I think the picture for most people would be fine on either TV. The other discussion to follow, is the 100U8K much better than the 100U76N for $1000 more.

You seem to be a verteren poster, any opinions on the reviews saying the Hisense looks bad up close? I'm coming from a 5 year old Ben Q 1080 projector 100 inch screen and a 2020 LG 86 UHLED.

Both of these setups seem fine to me even at 3 or 4 feet away. THe Hisense should be good enough too if I am coming from that right?

If I have high quality content playing it looks good up close. I'd never watch something that close though since you'd have to move your head or eyes back and forth constantly to take in the picture. But that's just my preference.

For those who used Best Buy mounting service, is there anything you need to prepare before their arrival? Also, if you just tell them I want the bottom of the TV to be XX inch above the floor, will they do all the measurements and etc to accomplish the request? Thanks

As a note to anyone else wanting a longer cord- I believe this uses just a normal grounded 3-prong power cable you'd use for a PC PSU.
