Tip: If you buy from Best Buy- add the plus membership to your order for $50. It'll extend your return period from 15 days to 60 for peace of mind in case the U8K comes back on sale or if you decide you just don't like it. You can cancel the membership within 60 days of purchasing it for a full refund.

Could you please share the mount that you used?
Thanks

I went with this one because it allows for a little tilt if desired...

I never really thought I had high ceilings but I guess maybe they are higher than normal?

Your comment has convinced me to lower mine 😒👍
Mine will be about 35", but I have a piece of furniture that is 33" high. So a little high, but not extreme as I've used the same piece of furniture for the past 8 years for my 70". Every notice builders are pre-wiring for TV's over the fireplace.

I have an installation scheduled today for the Hisense U76N, but a 100U8K came available on Best Buy at $3k in my area with free shipping and installation.

I want the U8K for the MiniLEDs particularly. Is that worth the two week delay and $1k premium?
Interesting question, I might be in the same mindset. Look forward to opinions

Deal for hisense 100U76N is available now in the DFW (McKinney) area! Was able to order two individually and was able to schedule it for delivery in Mid April. I am moving into my new home by then.
Thanks

I'm sure it all depends on what you are used to also. My last tv, a 75", was on a TV stand only about 27 in from the floor

I don't think BB is that smart to anticipate inventory in April. IMO, they are just going to keep the current item in the warehouse for a couple of months.

My thoughts are with the reviews from those who had both the 100U8K and the 100U76N that the picture quality is very close to each other. Spec wise the 100U8K is better than the 100U76N as it is better than the 98S550G. Is the difference worth $1000 or 50% more? It's a tough call as you can't compare these TVs in stores side by side.

Personally, I took the $1000 and upgraded the AVR and added front height speakers for Atmos. Hopefully I end up delivered on Monday as I started with the 100U8K with the Amazon Black Friday deal that ended bad due to ethical business practices by Amazon as they cancelled orders booked at $3000 claiming no stock, but started sell them the same day of the cancellation for $5000. Then I next chose the 98S550G when that went on sale for $2000. Then I saw the 100U76N was introduced for $3000 and had better specs. I had that ordered until the price was reduced to $2000, and I cancelled and reordered the 100U76N at the new price. That's the only way I could get my order changed to the new price. In the process my installation was delayed by 10 days.

So to me, the 2 weeks is no big deal as I've been waiting since Thanksgiving, but the $1000 is a big deal. I know for the price of $3000, I will have a good quality picture with a much upgraded audio system. LOL Hey, I just was delayed 2 days because BB messed up my order. I'm used to delays by now. Good look on your purchase.

Thank you for your insight. Sorry for the hassle you had to deal with. That sounds terrible!

I also don't mind the wait, so I think I'll be moving forward with the U8K. This was the TV with the tech I wanted at the size I needed. Missing out on the MiniLED brightness I think will leave me with some buyer's remorse knowing I could have either.

Oh, did you request the later date? That's nice of them to hold it.

I don't think you're losing anything in terms of brightness with the u76n. This thing is incredibly bright. It's still very vivid and pops during the day with all windows open and lights on. And at night you almost have to turn the brightness down or bright scenes make you squint.

Just my two cents after using it for a couple days.

I didn't give them any. Your first interaction with me you want to argue with me and tell me I'm wrong when it's the first time you've ever even seen the TV? All set. I had $50 in my pocket for them before that.

An 800 nits TV should be plenty bright at 100".
It should produce three times brightness compared to a 65.
