That's like saying "I bought a 4k TV but I just watch it in 1080p because it doesn't work well when using the 4k feature."
The fact these are on Woot a few months after product launch is a good sign...
I have a Pixel 7 and have recently experienced bugs. Fortunately an update seemed to fix them, but the fingerprint reader is the one thing that never works on the phone. It makes me so angry they removed the rear fingerprint reader.

Can anyone explain why this is a good price. I would expect this phone to be nearly half off at this point. Never seen prices so stubbornly high on pixel phones before. I'm assuming it has something to do with the extended software support? Maybe Google is trying to target a slightly higher tier customer
I think it seems like the price is holding up, only because Google raised the Pixel 8 price $100 over the Pixel 7. They need to do boosted trade-in values to make it decent.

They are offering $240 for a 3-year-old Pixel 5.

I don't think it's exactly like that, it's more like saying my car works fine a 0-100mph I've never felt the need to go 150 Stick Out Tongue

I've used Samsung (23+ now), pixels, and apple devices I swap out a lot and waterfall down my old phones to the kids and tested on them all. What I've seen is that low band 5g (in MANY areas outside of metropolitan areas) is worse than lte speeds. It feels like the same problem I have when outside in the yard and my phone is trying it's best to use wifi at the very edge thinking that it's a better connection, but it's intermittent and laggy. So usually I shut off wifi when mowing or shooting outside etc.

They did run the mid range connection to our area ( because we live about 3 miles as a crow flys from a major interstate ) I could get awesome download speeds on speedtest, but in no other way did it really impact the usability of my phone. I actually opted for the visible plan without the higher end connection option ( $10 more a month ) because it wouldn't change anything about how I interact with my phone on a daily basis.

Part of the reason I haven't given up my Pixel 5, love that rear fingerprint feature and handy size of the phone. Can Samsung & Google make a compact phone with all the same camera and other important specs like Ultra and Pro versions. Some of us have small hands and causing constant stretch hurts the palm.

i have been in the pixel ecosystem since the 3. had a 5, 6a, and now 8. they have all treated me wonderfully. the 5s battery eventually expanded and it was a pain but i got a new phone from google. only issue i ever had and i use the CRAP out of these phones.

some may have issues but i am hear to report i am very happy in the pixel ecosystem (especially if they keep offering google phone users great deals on future models as they have in the past. i have never paid more than a couple hundred bucks to upgrade (it was free for the 6a) and google has kept me in relatively new phones for years.

just needed to type my experience after seeing so many awful ones. TO ME it is a phone that seems as good as any other new phone out there at a very competitive price, very happy with all may pixels so far. the 8 seems the most refined so far, nice phone!

That's okay if you have one and need to upgrade. iPhone SE3 was $450 TIV; need that to come back.

Yup, pixel superfan. I've got a code. It's $549.99 through the Google store for the same though. However, you've got trade-in options there too. So depends on where and what you put value on. The 50 for both codes are for credit to be used later, not on the current order.

You can get the OnePlus 12 for $670 right now. That includes a free ram and storage upgrade to 16bg/512gb. OnePlus 12 is way closer to an s24 ultra than it is to a pixel. The camera is not as good and it doesn't have AI features, but everything else is pretty much on par. AI could be added later as it is software. Heck, even the OnePlus 12r is probably better than the pixel as long as you don't need a top of the line camera. You can get the 12r for $370 right now. Coupon code tech30 plus recycle any old/broken phone for $100 off.

The OnePlus 12/12R and Galaxy S24U aren't really comparable with the Pixel 8, in my opinion. At 6.8", they should be compared with the Pixel 8 Pro instead, in the mini-tablet market. The Galaxy S24 is a closer match.

Can the $50 credit be used towards Google photos storage? Or a new Pixel phone later on?

No it can't be used on any services, just hardware and accessories sold from the Google Store.

No, you actually save battery life by turning off 5G, and you use LTE when the 5G radio is on anyway.

Same. I don't use 5g just because it has such bad service around here. I downgrade it with every phone I've had the times I could. Rather be able to watch YouTube instead off it spinning.

This deal is still live. Looks like its the current best deal alive for Pixel 8 that doesnt require contracts/trade ins etc.
