89C has legs instead of a pedestal stand, otherwise identical.

I've had this TV for about 7 weeks or so now. Great TV, but just got a stuck-on pixel dead center. Tried all of the stuck pixel tricks, pixel refresh, etc. It's still there. Not too noticeable in most shows, but of course now my eye is always looking for it.

Absolutely this. It's competes with the C3 so getting it for less than the B3 is a steal. It's effectively the same TV as the S90C.

Mine arrives tomorrow. Does someone have a link for the picture settings that we should use for this TV? Thanks.

Someone else mentioned AVSForum, users on there will post their custom calibration values as well.

Warm 2 setting is 7100k, that's the warmest it gets out of the box.

Do not apply numerical settings from other internet tvs, it messes with the power allocation per color channel, you might not get your peak highlights if they're not balanced right. It's a weird quirk I've found from my probe measurements.

Everything else is to taste.

Contrast enhancer lifts the gamma curve for daytime / bright room usage.

You could have gotten that same TV for like $1200 at Walmart via Beach Camera. Id 100 percent get the 77 Sammy as the S89C/90C and C3 are very close in comparison.

2000 at Costco right now. In store.
Nope, was just there yesterday and it's not $2000 in my area. I had hoped it was.

Other than the 77" S90C deal that was in $1500 range with stacked promos this is the best 77" TV deal. I wouldn't hesitate at this price.
Where was S90 listed with Promos? Thanks. [email protected]

Keep an eye on it. My local store is down to 4 in stock and dropped to 2k price. Was 2500 a couple weeks ago when they had 5. I call and ask for an inventory check and give them item number. Will go up there when they have two and work up a deal.

Just picked one up at BB. I couldn't get my Samsung EPP discount to work for the 83" special, but size wise the 77" is a better fit for my living room.

It was a perfect fit in our Toyota Highlander but with no space to spare laying almost flat. Maybe a few extra inches if positioned at an angle. Smaller SUVs would be cutting it close. Delivery for sure if you don't have a large SUV or truck.

Decided to pull the trigger, at $1999 it seemed like a great deal, but at $1799 you can't beat it.

There are drawbacks with any TV but I think the workarounds are not that bad for Samsung TVs:
No Dolby Vision support but you get HDR10+ to make up for it. My understanding is that both top tier HDR formats contain the additional metadata versus standard HDR, so either way your TV can display the added HDR color information. Only a matter of time before all streaming services will likely have both DV and HDR10+ standards, no Dolby licenses fees should make HDR10+ easier/cheaper to implement.

Lack of DTS sound processing in the TV can be overcome if you have a streaming device, Blu-ray player, video game system that can send the DTS format to your receiver and then the AVR can pass the video signal to your Samsung TV. If you are just using your TVs internal speakers, it's unlikely that missing DTS will be very important, in order to hear the difference between DTS formats and Dolby formats, you are normally needing a surround sound system. If you are using a soundbar and prefer DTS, than that could impact you, but soundbar and Dolby should provide a decent amount of sound immersion.

Not a fan of Tizen OS? Well most TVs have an OS that is loaded with Ads, pick your preferred streaming service and use that instead, you can hook up your Apple TV, Firestick, Roku, Nvidia Shield, or even a video game as your streaming service interface.

If you have to have Dolby Vision support, then I guess that is the showstopper, but as a sports fan I would rather have no WOLD banding issues than worry about DV support. If you need DV and OLED, you will have to pony up $ for LG or Sony.

Stop with that nonsense. Unless you are using Blu-ray only for the TV and even then you won't notice a difference. I have a C3 and Sammy 55 S90C. No difference
Tell us more about how you're not seeing a difference with your streaming services 🙄
What a foolish statement.

Really a foolish statement. I have both. Blu Ray, streaming, your eye cannot tell a difference. So tell me again why DV is so important? Lol. I turn it off to be honest on my C2. The only foolish thing is someones brain talking themselves into buying a TV for $200+ more for an HDR format that makes no difference 99.9 percent of the time.

DV and HDR10+ are comparable in video quality, but not in content availability. It's not even close, really. HDR10 is widely available, and a decent alternative to DV, but there's a reason HDR10+ was introduced. Dynamic metadata HDR is simply better. Whether it's a big enough difference to warrant not buying a TV is probably down to how picky you are with picture quality. Many people would say it's not worth skipping the Samsung OLEDs for, but people acting like others have no business disliking the fact that DV isn't on here are silly. Both valid points of view.
