Well, explained another way, the LG doesn't even have a big enough color space to SHOW YOU, the Dolby Vision encoded colors. What use is dolby vision then?
That white pixel can make highlights brighter, but it desaturates around 2-300nits, after which all highlight starts to whiteout. The Samsung colors go from 1 end to the other, HOT. The difference in color volume is ENORMOUS.
I would have to see rtings burn-in review of the 2023 QD-OLED panels before recommend them.
My 3 C3's haven't burned in yet. So i highly recommend them as a monitor. Or maybe a G3 if you want something brighter.

Conclusion, the S89C is a C3 that gets the Samsung's treatment (processing, smartTV interface, ecosystem, etc.)

Last year, Samsung signed a historic deal with LG Display for its OLED TVs. Samsung's TV division decided to use LG Display's WRGB OLED panels in some of its OLED TVs, and that is a huge deal, as the two companies have been adversaries for a few decades. Now, they appear to have extended their deal.
Samsung may use LG's OLED panels in its TVs for at least five years
DigiTimes reports that Samsung has signed a five-year deal with LG Display. Samsung DX, the division of Samsung Electronics that makes and sells TVs, will reportedly use LG Display's WRGB OLED panels in some of its TVs for at least five years. While Samsung Display, the company's display panel manufacturing unit, also makes QD-OLED panels, it doesn't have as many panel size options as LG Display does. So, to fill up the gap that Samsung Display can't fulfill right now, Samsung DX is using LG's OLED panels.

Urgent UPDATE: Hey everyone — I report on the S89C being a WRGB OLED because DT reported it as such based on press releases we were given. I'm hearing that is is supposedly actually QD-OLED. I will verify with Samsung immediately and provide conclusive guidance here as soon as I hear back. I am extremely frustrated by this situation and vow to get to the bottom of it, but if I am mistaken A. I apologize and B. I hope you can understand the confusion around this. I took the update of 2 days ago as a confirmation of the issue.

Sales lady said that the S89C was a Black Friday Best Buy exclusive that uses extra parts from other models and that even if there was a display model, the one in the box could possibly look different. 😂 Also said there was 2 HDMI different from the S90C and only 1 was 4K. Sounds like she was hoping I wouldn't buy it or has no idea what she was talking about. LOL
