89C has legs instead of a pedestal stand, otherwise identical.

I've had this TV for about 7 weeks or so now. Great TV, but just got a stuck-on pixel dead center. Tried all of the stuck pixel tricks, pixel refresh, etc. It's still there. Not too noticeable in most shows, but of course now my eye is always looking for it.

Absolutely this. It's competes with the C3 so getting it for less than the B3 is a steal. It's effectively the same TV as the S90C.

Just picked one up. Good god this tv is outstanding. Even my wife who never really noticed or cared about tvs. She saw this and said "wow, this is how TVs should look" easiest 1800 I've gotten away spending lol.

I know they say you are not supposed to lay tvs flat when transporting but how big of a deal is it really if I live about 5 miles from the store?

What screws are you guys using? I tried m8 30 mm and the bite seems a bit shallow. The manual for the s89cb seems to list 28-30mm.
M8-1.25x35mm Phillips pan head screws at home depot with a washer. Perfect fit. The 30mm did not feel secure enough as it only went 2-3 full revolutions

You chat BB for the Costco price match of 2299? BB won't match a price without a link and I see 2299 at Costco, which is the same as BB.
I video chatted. The guy was awesome, matched Costco but with the 5yr geek squad Warenty.

always checkout the demo first when i was the s90c in person it took me 2 seconds to say forget about it. Sony's full array led looked way better thats how low end the s90c when you jump into the s95 wagon then the story changes.
Totally agree with you. I did checked out these TVs before buying the S90C. The Sony one is amazing and the one I really wanted, but it is out of stock and the price is too much. I saw the A80L, the C3, G3, B3, S95C, S90C, and some others Hisense/TCLS. In my opinion the A95L is the best one, the G3 is the 2nd best one. The S90C was the last place. I saw the the S95C and S90C side by side and I couldn't tell the difference. They both looked the same to me, maybe in some bright scenes the S95C might look slightly brighter but at least not that I could notice. The C3 looked as good or close to the S90C, with definitely better image processing but the brightness difference was huge, the S90C was noticeable brighter.

Samsung has to really give thanks to Sony for me buying the S90C, after seeing what Sony did with that same QD-OLED panel it made me consider getting the Samsung S90C hoping that with some tweaking the Sammy would look a little bit like the Sony. I know it won't be anything like Sony due to the image processor but something close. The price, the FOMO, and the lack of stock of the Sony made me pull the trigger on the S90C.

After looking through Samsung website and first responder discount, got the 77 inch, S95C for $2449.99 before taxes. So ended up spending 650$ more for the S95C versus the S89C, but don't know if it was worth it all the way.

Anyone with this series of Samsung TV, how much does the lack of DTS support bother you? Really the only downside I can see with buying this tv at this price
If you are using DTS, you are using an AVR, and since you are using that you can use an Apple TV or nvidia shield or firetv to feed dts to the avr. You you should be using one to avoid tizen anyways. If your avr doesn't support hdmi 2.1, you can split the hdmi. Or set the tv to use pass through audio and that will let the avr decode dts.

AFAIK Samsung TVs won't pass DTS through eARC even.

Just snagged one. Replacing my 65" Sony x900F. Got a steal on that for $750 3 years ago so I don't feel too bad spending this much on this puppy.

Guys, What do I do? I feel itchy and FOMO looking at all the discussion. Getting into a new home in March and this will do wonders but dont need it right now.

Will there be something similar in couple of months time? thx!

Same. I have a 85" QN90B that is under a year old that I got for $1600. I'd still rather have a QD-OLED even if it's 77", but I don't need more than one TV (& can't easily sell the 85").

It has taken some willpower but I've managed not to buy it.

Any reason not to get the 77 S90c instead of this one if they are the same price?

If you are paying for the move from one place to the other it might be wise to wait it out as you might have to pay extra to get the TV moved to the new place killing the savings you gain from this deal.
