89C has legs instead of a pedestal stand, otherwise identical.

I've had this TV for about 7 weeks or so now. Great TV, but just got a stuck-on pixel dead center. Tried all of the stuck pixel tricks, pixel refresh, etc. It's still there. Not too noticeable in most shows, but of course now my eye is always looking for it.

Absolutely this. It's competes with the C3 so getting it for less than the B3 is a steal. It's effectively the same TV as the S90C.

Curious about this because they have different ratings on Rtings.com Confused
I think it's just due to them testing a 65' s90c and the only size for the s89c is a 77. Probably just variance due to size difference/margins of error

Mainly the due to the minor differences you get between different production batches. From rtings:

Differences Between Sizes And Variants
We bought and tested the 77-inch Samsung S89C, and it's the only model available. The S89C is a variant of the Samsung S90C OLED, with the only notable difference being that it uses feet instead of a stand. The S89C, also known as the Samsung S89CB in North America, performs the same.

Size North American Model Short Model Code Display Technology
77" QN77S89CBFXZA QN77S89CB QD-OLED
Our unit was manufactured in September 2023;

The Samsung S89C OLED is an incredible OLED TV. It is a variant of the Samsung S90C OLED, but it uses feet instead of a stand.
Overall, it performs the same as the S90C, with the slight differences in brightness and accuracy between the two models likely due to panel variance.

Your eyes can't tell the difference. It really is a mute point. I have both and don't even use it in the LG C2
Look up some reviews on DV vs others. DV simply just isn't where it needs to be and isn't the game changer people make it out to be.

DV is the same story as discussing MP3 vs FLAC or vs CD Audio, ie compressed audio vs uncompressed. Some people can see or hear the difference and others don't. In this case I'm on the boat that DV is not worth the extra money for it. HDR10 is good enough, availability for it is not as wide as DV but it is increasing some. I'm a FLAC person though laugh out loud

From what I have seen online, if your main source of content are streaming sources like Netflix, in blind tests HDR10 has won vs DV. If you are watching Blu-Rays and you like DV then definitely get an LG or Sony.

Also, if you have mainly Blu-Rays keep in mind that there are ways to extract the DV metadata and convert that into HDR10+ with free open source tools. Not everyone wants to go through that hassle though.

For gaming, at least PC gaming, I'm sure someone will come up with mods that convert DV into HDR10 on the fly.

S90C/S89C are significantly better than LG B series. S90C/S89C are competing with LG C3 and G3.

Pulled the trigger, I've been holding out for a great deal on a large OLED TV. This is it. Buying on Chase Ink for additional 1-year warranty through the card.

Anybody buy a S90C from Samsung and have a good experience with transit time and communications ? Any damage to your TV? Reading the reviews of AGS - it's all 1 stars ratings 🙄

I got 77'' S90C from the other thread.
The TV looks fantastic and can't find any issues.

My experience was great, but it's just online purchase and delivery and installation. I did not have to talk to anyone and nothing went wrong.

I also got 15% discount on top of EPP pricing from support + referral. So there is nothing to complain about.

QLED like all LED TVs have absolutely no burn in. All OLED have burn in potential, some more than others. QD-Oled is more prone than W-oled to burn in.
You are technically right but not 100% right. All LED TVs have a degree of burn-in or screen degradation. The difference is that for LED TVs it just takes a way way way longer time for it to happen thanks to improvements in the technology. But if you leave any LED TV at super high brightness turned on 24/7 they will burn in, it is just that it takes super long to occur for LED TVs. Where I work they have ancient LED TVs that are left 24/7 literally turned On and they have burn-in.

But again, new LED TVs, specially at normal usage, will be hard to get noticeable burn-in.

One proof of this is that Samsung used to offer 10 years of burn-in warranty for LED TVs. If they didn't get Burn-in at all like you mentioned why even offer that warranty.

OLEDs in the other hand are more more sensitive in this area and can get burn-in more easily.

As always, I might be wrong as I'm not an expert in this area.

This is 100% inaccurate. LED TVs can absolutely have burnin.

Correct - anything that uses phosphors can suffer premature aging of the phosphors, some technologies are more prone then others .

I just had a Hisense U8K delivered yesterday and am contemplating purchasing this and returning the Hisense. My family likes to leave those asmr videos playing on the screen all day though so I'm worried about burn in with this being the main TV.
I have the 77 inch LG G2 and my wife always pauses videos on it. Had it for over a year and zero burn in. Not sure the Samsung would be any different.
