I have this installed about 3 days ago. So far so good. I combined it with a same brand doorbell and the home base 3 with bunch more cameras. It has a neat integration with the doorbell, so you can directly open the door as you view the doorbell video. Good thing I liked about this ecosystem is that there is no subscription. All videos are stored on the homebase device in your home.

I've had mine installed for about a month and battery appears to still be at 100%. Installation was super easy, it looks nice, functions as it should, and it has some neat integration ability with other cameras on your system. That said, the body of this entire unit is a cheap-feeling plastic that kind of surprised me. I'm sure the locking mechanism itself is sufficient for its purpose, but it doesn't inspire confidence for a high-traffic exterior door. I used mine on an interior door from the garage into the house--I don't think i'd feel comfortable with using it on a high-traffic exterior door (though i'm sure it'd be fine).

I'd buy it again, but that's the use case i'd personally restrict it to.

One common issue I see in these locks, the auto lock deadbolt doesn't recede while closing. Meaning let's say that auto lock period is 30secs and you held the door open for more than 30 secs, you've to manually unlock it to close the door. If you forget this accidentally & shut the door (force of habit) the deadbolt will damage the door frame and might damage the locking mechanism as well.

I know it's a very minor thing and we need to be conscious about it. But since these locks are all about convenience, I don't understand why they didn't consider this.

Any suggestions for a smart lock (with fingerprint) that lets the deadbolt recede (even when locked) while closing ?
I have the one with finger print for about 6 months now. Yes, this is an issue, I ended up just putting one of those felt circles you put under the feet of a chair right where the door lock would hit the frame and it has prevented any damages.

I've been using this exact model for about 5 months. I haven't noticed any issues with battery life. Seems like a reliable product and I'm happy with it. I also like the fact that the same app is used for the Eufy tracking device ( their version of the air tag)

Any locks that work like a car door? Put your hand on the handle and it unlocks automatically?

How well does the fingerprint reader work? Do you have to constantly clean it for it to work?
It works great but we don't have a porch or overhang and if it gets wet it doesn't work so great

Is it bad to buy one of these smart locks that also has integrated manual key feature? I feel this can be picked easily no?
That's better than getting locked out due to dead batteries.

Battery life is atrocious. I had to replace batteries 3 times in January. Uninstalled that crap and bought the aqara U100. So much better.

Anyone have first hand experience about this lock? Reviews seem good, but common complaint is battery life
I love this lock i personally been using it for 1.5 years now and its been fantastic and this is my main door. i open and close it frequently, yes the only flaw is the battery. I used it multiple times when i am in another state (NY) and my family needs access to my home in TX. I only had one issue after 2 months in when i first installed it where i had to factory reset it but then it worked flawlessly after that. (I think an update an failed over wifi bc there was lightening strike or something idk).

I don't have this specific lock/deadbolt from Eufy, but I've been super happy with mine. No issues with connectivity, solid battery life (I rarely have to charge the thing), and simple enough features on the app.

I'm just a basic home user and we use it for our front door and it's been great for us.

Fingerprint works well even during the extreme cold, which is something I was concerned about since we're located up in the North.

What information could they possibly learn? How often I leave my house?
If it has wifi connectivity, it has access to your unencrypted data on same network

Siulam is referring to the Eufy deadbolt with Fingerprint reader. I have it, convenient, but I wish there was a faster way to lock it when you leave (must hold down the button for a few seconds). Worth the upgrade and $120 right now:

I have the fingerprint one, it's great. I'd highly recommend the fingerprint one over this.

HOWEVER, I'd be very careful about that WARRANTY. I bought a Eufy refurb lock off Amazon and it only had a 30 day warranty. That "18-month aftersales service with 24/7 customer support" is not a warranty. They are essentially saying they will talk to for 18 months. I had an issue with my lock and brought up the warranty and they told me it was 30 days. For me, I wouldn't have bought it I had understood that.
