I was thinking the same thing. I have a small desktop with a 4060 TI and a T16 gen 1. Managing two machines is a pain. This seems like a good way to consolidate.

Correction, this has 16GB of soldered with 1 slot open. Still a strange configuration but better than the 8GB mentioned originally. I mixed up this another model, thanks crucial for the mix match info. Still would prefer 2 slots for possibly 64GB total than onboard + 1 slot.

Thank you to those that called out the correction.

Original: Biggest downside with this model is its RAM configuration, it has 8GB of RAM soldered on with a slot that can support 32GB. But that leaves you with only a maximum supported RAM of 40GB and unbalanced channels which usually lowers performance. Would pass for a model with 2 upgradeable slots.

That's strange. The 4060 model has one 16gb soldered and one open slot.

Dual channel RAM has only a small benefit, which would likely not be noticeable on a laptop.

Ddr5 single sticks run in dual channel already. 2 sticks would be quad channel but not as much of an improvement from single to dual
