You should be very happy to get that RAZR phone, so far I have spent $15 for 5 GV numbers and never got a completed order. Now I have 5 GV with only a delete button without lock protection on my GV accounts and they are all invalid for reordering at MetroPCS.
You can wait for 1 or 2 days, after that you can use the same GV number again for porting. It is like a hold for 1 or 2 days and they release after that if your order was not successful. They just do not want to hit porting again and again with the number that has some issues with porting.

How do you get it unlocked once the 180 days are over?
Auto unlock by metro after 180 days (just connect to their network using wifi connection and metro sim in the phone)

I believe it won't work because I just tried the same GV number again and it did past the check number stage, but it failed at the end when MetroPCS tried to reserve my GV number for 5 minutes. Look like Google did not reply to the request from MetroPCS.

Another thing you need a new mobile phone number to get that new GV number in different account. I noticed that once the mobile number is used to get the new GV, it can't be used to get another GV in different account.

Yeah, it seems like it's Google failing to process the port request or something.

I am not sure ported out GV number will disappear from google account. It will remain under your account unless you delete it and get new one. It won't disappear like it happen with traditional service provider e.g. sprint or t mobile or any other mvno where number disappear from account after port out.
My GV number disappeared automatically when the porting process was completed at Mint Mobile. If you delete the GV manually, you might run into problems with your number. This happened to a few folks when I searched for this topic online. You don't suppose to delete the number manually after you port it out. Based on the instructions for porting out GV from the Google Voice help website, it said clearly like this: "Do not delete the Google Voice number once it's initiated with your gaining carrier".

I know why because since that GV number only has the delete option and no lock or unlock option, Google flagged this GV number as an already port out number and will not respond to any requests for porting out in the future. This happened to two numbers already.

I have received email from Metro "Nice job—you activated your phone!"

Inside that

Now, let's start using it [if porting was not complete it won't say that and I won't receive OTP to access metro account]

Activation date: 03/06/24
Mobile device number: <GV ported out number>
Billing account number: <xxxxxx>
Monthly recurring charges: $40.00

How it will create problem apart from it won't do certain things e.g. sms or incoming calls won't work?

My goal is not use service after 30 days and wait for them to unlock after 180 days.

Also, keep in mind that many people port out their number within 30 days and have their phone unlocked after 180 days.

In my opinion, the email with the title "Your phone activated" should trigger a 180-day unlock.

Exist out of Metro page, clear your browser's cache, close it out, and try again. That did the trick for me.

Folks, anyone who bought phone from Metro 6 months ago having trouble unlocking?

I bought Stylus 5G 2023 and today is the 183th day since I got the "You did it! Your phone is active" email.

I tried the "Device Unlock" App.

Initially it says "

Unable to connect to the
server at this time. Please
try again later.

(SERVER COMMUNICATION
ERROR: ERROR CODE=502
MSG=SERVER_NOT_REAC
HABLE)
"

When I hit "CONTINUE". It says

"
You have not met the following requirements to fully unlock your device.

x Device must be used on this phone number for 180 days
"

The MetroPCS SIM is in the phone the whole 6 months. I have activated for 30 days. Used it to make phone calls. And then I let it expire.

Anyone in similar situation or have successfully unlocked Stylus 5G 2023 recently?
I kept getting the same with my Stylus. I don't know if it helped but there was an option in the about phone all the way at the bottom named "Update carrier configuration" I did that but still got the error but there were different options after. One option was try permanent unlock and I clicked that and it worked then had to restart now shows unlocked.

Hmmm, someone said after a couple of days, it'll reset though and you can try again? I think my issue was having call in voicemail turned off by accident... I might have tapped it by accident the other night after setting a pin... and then the phones were sold out.

Now my phone is active on Metro and Google, and it will remain the same for 30 days (in fact, 21 days as the next billing cycle prorated with the old number).

All I want is a number to be registered on the Metro network. It will never roll back, get unregistered, etc. After 30 days, the line will be suspended, and I am done anyway.

You will go through all the hassle to reclaim it if you care about that number.

If everything fails and the phone doesn't get unlocked after 180 days, I will sell it as a metro phone.
