Now they've done it...
New wording for Metro unlock policy:

https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/t...ock-policy

"Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:

The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date."

Should obviously only apply to purchases made after they changed the rules.
But might have to fight for that...

Yeah, otherwise you can't get a new GV number.

Did your ported-out GV disappear from your Google account after activating your Metro phone? or it is still under that account with only the delete button.
I wonder why the phone that you linked to your GV number doesn't ring when people call your GV number (which was ported to Metro), instead the caller got the busy signal.

My ported-out GV number is still in my GV account, with only the Delete button. Not a big deal to me. It's a throw-away number and can be gone after 1 month with Metro.

Each phone from Metro seems to be tied to the sim they send it with, right? Basically you can not even use a different Metro sim with the phone. It will show Emergency calls only.

If anybody knows a way around it, I would appreciate it.

--> In my case, I deleted that number by clicking delete button and that maybe the reason I get busy tone for incoming call and SMS not working but received OTP number to login into metro account.

I bought one online from Metro in January (before the current deal) for $200 + tax + $40 plan. I think it's worth the money, especially when about $100 of the money was profit from selling my unlocked Metro A54. It's small when folded, has a pretty good screen, good sounds, decent performance (see my GeekBench test results below). It's also on Tracfone/Verizon whitelist if I ever want to use it with Tracfone.

I don't use my phones much, they sit idle most of the time (powered on). So I use the battery percentage that each phone uses every 24 hrs for comparison. Below are my results:
* S24: 6%
* S22: 8%
* Nord N30: 7%
* Moto Razr: 6%
* iPhone12: 10%

I wish I could get a 23fe for the port-in price, everytime I've checked, it's always been OOS.

Two things I've noticed. 1: Most phones show out of stock until I place a phone number in to check portability then check the number. After it verifies that then the add-to-cart button activates. 2: I reported this in an earlier post but it's worth repeating. I was able to port GV numbers that had recently been denied. Those numbers only had the delete option available but lock and unlock options were gone yet they worked fine one day after failed port.

Funny that LG G6 from 2017 on your list had more screen resolution than all the recent phones!

Do all these phones require a port in. I thought last time they had this deal you just bought the phone out right with one month's service and let it sit for 6 months and and it unlocked automatically.
they have never had a deal for iphones with new number, it has always been for porting in, what are you talking about?😒

When you log into your account online, it knows all the information on any phone you want to switch. I just did it last week and was surprised when the sim number came up automatically. I had to compare the number to the sim to make sure it was correct. I was pleasantly shocked to see it was that easy. hth

I see in my account that each sim is attached to the phone that it came with. The problem is how to start using a phone with a different Metro sim. I bought two phones with new numbers. I see them both in my account. I activated both. But when I tried to place the second sim into the first phone, it did not work (service not working). Not sure how and if possible to fix it.
