Starting February 29, 2024, Metro by T-Mobile introduces the online "Bring your number" (port-in) option. People no longer needs to go to the store to get scammed for keeping their phone numbers to enjoy the deep discount. You can choose a $40 plan in most cases (even though it may say a $60 plan ($65 with autopay) is required). If you buy a phone with a new number, you need to choose the $60 plan. The free phone check-out price is $65 for the OnePlus N30, Moto Stylus 5G 2023, etc.

There are three purchase options.

You can activate the phone before or after receiving it. If you don't activate the phone, the system will automatically activate it on day 21 after it is shipped. You should receive an email from "T-Mobile US" with the subject "Your phone is now active" to give you details about your phone, phone number, etc.

180 days after activation, your phone will be eligible to unlock! you don't need keep the service for 180 days, once your phone got activated one time, after 180 days, your phone is eligible to unlock!
Unlock eligibility requirements
- The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.

- One hundred eighty (180) days must have passed since the device's activation date.
Any other information about unlocking is fake or scam!
Do not waste your money to get third party unlocking service ! it won't work.
The MOTO Stylus 5G 2023 has *6* GB RAM, not 4gb, per the Metro website. And assuming its the same phone that shipped last time, it has eSIM support as well....
Also, Metro By T-mobile also has the T Life benefit, which means you can redeem 1 year of MLB.TV for free if your line is still active on 3/26/2024.

- Ordered it earlier this month on a Monday. I received it 2 days later on Wednesday.
- It activated automatically 21 days later after the shipping date. (As the OP said... I somehow missed seeing that). I received an email stating it.
- I had issues with getting phone calls (like others here). Also couldn't receive texts. My phone is an iphone.
- I called the porting number per OPs instructions. Got a nice person but they were not able to help me. Even though they escalated it (without me asking). Mentioned it had something to do with landline portability. They even made me update the OS even though I was unsure I wanted the latest OS on it, yet. Rep said it would resolve in 2 hours. It did not.
- I left the matter alone for the day. Thinking I'll call back again if it's still not resolved the next day. The next day it was resolved.
I ordered more than one device under this deal but my total amount due for the next month is less that the sum of individual lines' monthly charges. I assume they're applying credits from charging the first month in full toward the second month.
Ported in 3 lines for 1 iphone 11, 2x iphone 12. In the past 2 days, ported all the numbers out of MetroPCS (The Google Voice number was quite good), and port it to my tmobile's line to replace existing number. Took less than a few hours, and all lines are closed now, and MetroPCS account closed.

You just need to register other phone's IMEI on the line for the sim to work in another phone -- online account has option for "switch device" when you click on line details (enter other phone's IMEI and select option to keep using existing sim)
