This seems to compare well against the Denon x2800H which costs a bit more. Looking to replace a Denon x1300W for hdmi2.1 support and w/e other upgrades I can get, Dirac sounds interesting. Not worried about using an amp down the road. Currently running 5.1 but interested in going to 5.1.2 soonish. This unit a good spot to be probably?
5.1.2 is a gateway drug to 5.1.4, so yea a 9.2 is probably the minimum if you have a good deal like this one.

I have same issue with my Onkyo NR6050 that I picked up from Costco. The eARC acts funny with my LG G2. Especially when I have Xbox connected through it. Now I connected everything straight to the tv and use eARC. But sometimes it doesn't work

I have the same problem with onkyo from costco and samsung 90b. I returned the onkyo receiver. In market for a receiver

Holding out for the 505. I'm coming from the cheapie Denon that sells at Costco, and frustrated with lack of preouts. I'd also love to have a super on screen display (OSD) and Dirac would be awesome as well. Until then, holding steady with a completely sufficient Denon.

This has 9 channels, 20 watts more power, more 2.1 inputs, includes Dirac Live( vs MultEQ).

Most people would take this imo.

I'm having a lot of eArc drama with my Denon S960, she and my Samsung 90B do NOT get along! How do the Pioneers play along via eArc?

I own this receiver. Earc is mostly flawless, especially compared to my older pioneer vsx-1024k which was a nightmare for arc. The only issue I've had is occasionally it will recognize the format incorrectly and lose all audio. The only fix is holding the power button to do a hard reset. It's annoying, however it only happens once every 2 weeks or so.

Who's downvoting this take? Even the 2800 is arguably inferior.

Kinda depends, Dirac capable would be the 3800.
If you don't need Dirac the 3700 or 3600.

I have a Samsung S95B and a Denon S970H. No issues at all with eARC. Have you updated the firmware for both devices?

I have some older units connected

Samsung QN90a and a Pioneer LX701 that play just fine together

Denon X3800 for hundreds more...and that is not including the Dirac licence and appropriate calibration mic that you will have to buy as well

IMO..if you have a smaller/medium room and dont listen at reference levels you cant beat a unit such as this with Dirac standard for the $$

It has also been going on sale for the same price range, but the mic and license are not a small detail
