Anyone ever had to deal with a return with Samsung ?
Just bought this one and had to return it due to a cracked panel. Pickup at Best Buy allows you to return it to Best Buy which is much easier with this giant box.

Depends for what. It's a 35% higher pixel count vs the 49. As a programmer and Excel jockey, I'm very tempted.
if you don't already have the 1440p, I'd jump on this right away. I was tempted, but my stuff is sufficient. Maybe I'll get an 5090 card, then get this, but something better may come up after I get my graphic card.

It's much more than 35%. This is 16.6 million pixels vs. 7.4 million pixels on a 1440p 32:9.

Only at 120hz. None of the Nvidia gpus can drive this at full 240hz native because of display port limitation.

Monitors used to be cheap. Why did they turn so expensive?

Probably when they got so big and/or are performance models. And niche. A regular monitor is actually fairly inexpensive.

Got the OLED version for under $700 from that price mistake with promo code. Also use the c9 version for work

I love the 49" G9 Neo, and it's been working well for me. A critical feature of my monitor is G-Sync, which this one lacks. I won't buy a monitor without it.

You are correct! I did the math for area and assumed pixel density was the same, good catch. Samsung went from 110ppi to 140ppi, so it should be much sharper.

(57/49)^2=135% by area

It's 225% by pixel count.

I dunno, you're off your rocker if you're making a blanket statement of value when there's a panel size difference. I forget but i think 49" is equal to 2 27" and the 57" is equal to 2 32". I mean that's the big draw is panel size and resolution bump, not the panel quality in my eyes.

I bought this at launch and was shocked at how bad the blooming was. I ended up returning it for the OLED G9 and have never regretted it. I wfh full time as a software engineer and primarily game on PC.

I purchased this during the last deal at $1499 and it is a lot taller than the 49" the added vertical space is amazing. The 49" looks tiny in comparison. You can't simply go by the fact that it's only 8" wider you have to account for the added vertical space. With that said if you only plan on browsing the internet or watching movies then this monitor is pointless. I use it for productivity because I need a lot of space so it suits my needs.
