YMMV - this is very situation-dependent. Existing Boost Mobile customers (I believe 9 months or more) are eligible for discounted phones. I ordered a Samsung A15 for my son for $40. They also have the A25 at $100 and a few motorolas on sale. The terms say you must activate the phone on the Boost network or you'll be charged the full price of the phone. Probably so they can download all of their spam apps and games on your phone. Within an hour of activating the phone, I received a message that it was unlocked. Tested it on a Verizon line and it worked. This worked out well for my situation. Hope it helps someone.

Just popped in a boost mobile sim and waited an hour. It was automatic. I didn't really do anything.
How long have you been with boost before upgrading? Not sure if that is related with you getting instant unlock
2 years
Wow that's crazy!

Verizon charges up front for the 15 and reduces your bill by a pittance over like 24 months or whatever. Terms on those are terrible
They do not charge upfront. They apply a 36 or 48 month bill credit. But since my daughter is like 12 this is meaningless to me since i will be paying for her line for the forseeable future.
So we ate clear only her line js on Boost. All of my other ljnes are in Verizon.
The deal is 100% of the cost of the phone as a bill credit.
I get the offer for both 15 plan and 10 plan. I think it depends on how long have you been with boost.
