Correct. Otherwise they're fairly similar. If one doesn't need to pass through, it won't matter, if it absolutely matters I recommend someone wait until next year.

Also note, the Q990D is considerably more expensive, even with a discount. It really depends on how much you're willing to pay. I'd love the HDMI 2.1, but I don't need to pass anything through. I'm using the eARC plus my three HDMI 2.1 ports so I'm full, but I don't plan on more devices (UHD 4k Blu-Ray player, Intel NUC HTPC, and Apple TV 4k).

Since this model does not have HDMI 2.1, when using ARC/eARC, will this sound bar play back Dolby True HD or DTS HD Master streams in their native, lossless formats? If not, will it play back in native lossless when plugged into an input on the sound bar?
