I picked up three of these earlier today. I know they're only rated at 30 lumens, but the LEDs are surrounded by reflective material and seem fairly bright for what they are.
The only problem is on 2 out of 3 of the rocks, the bottom panel by the batteries is coming loose from the rock and will definitely let water in. I will have to seal the bottom with silicone if I decide to keep these.
A lot of the reviews say it leaks water and they become dead after a few months. I think it's a good price at 5 each but not being waterproof as others have mentioned would be a dealbreaker
Any item on sale at Home Depots is a huge YMMV, especially online sales where the site indicates in-stock at any particular store when its been zero for a while. Their inventory control is generally unreliable.
Same. And it's not available. Oh well, I'll just go to Dollar Tree and get theirs. Instead of a rock, theirs are in the shape of a cute little froggie or woodchuck. Same solar panel, same light. I'm guessing that the innards are identical to this as well. My Dollar Tree froggie is still glowing brightly for 5+ hrs every night after two years.
HomeDepot deals should be banned, I went to the store the first time this came out, and took 2 of these lights to the shelf checkout price was $34 each, I just left them at the self-check stand, and the crazy attendant looked at me weird, I was like put them back bitch not my job
Calm down Ken. If it isn't marked down on the label then it's going to be a gamble. Even brickseek isn't always accurate. Do you want to discuss this with an HD manager?
anyone mod these to work with 12V power? ANYONE buying solar is throwing money down the drain. Best to power them off a real solar panel and really batteries. Any landscape solar will never last one or two seasons if that long. And if it still is going, its dimmer or doesn't light as long. Just the nature of the physics in the makeup.
