A heads up: If you abuse buying discounted phones and activating then immediately canceling AT&T service too often, you will eventually be banned by AT&T from activating service anymore.

Believe it or not, that type of gaming is tracked and no one will be able to fix that for you.

Ex-AT&T employee.

PS: If you don't care, that's fine. But If you do, then you should be aware of this and pick your deals carefully.

The Ultra/256gb unlocked is $421, no need to go thru all the cancellation hassle , better deal imo.

they are dropping 50 every two weeks. I would wait, these phones are not selling like hotcakes. I considered s24 ultra during googlefi launch promo and rolled back because the price is too steep to what it has to offer. I expect the s23 to drop in price till they clear the inventory.
Also s24 have similar att offers through best buy for +$100 to $150

BTW, my S23 FE just got the Samsung UI 6.1 and it's pretty wild with AI. I think it's a keeper now, I'll put up with the extra weight.

My phone is not unlocked yet, I just got the service cancelled. I asked the CSR to unlock my phone, he Said he did it. However when I put my T-Mobile SIM in, it's asking for a code.

My account is cancelled though and the balance adjusted but not zeroed, it's still showing $27 due. Is there a way to negotiate this one out?

I think I just need to wait 60 days before trying the unlock again
You can chat with them to take care of the due. Mention the buyer remorse policy if you have to.

They give you the unlock code which you are supposed to enter when you see that dialog box so specifically ask them for the code?

Success! After failing two days in a row, I waited more than 24 hrs. Tried in incognito window. Put in name/phone number/email that I haven't tried before. I got successful email with instructions. Now, I have unlocked S23+. Gotta call Monday to cancel the account, I read in the other deal that the dept. that handles cancellation is closed on Sundays.

Thank you OP! I was losing faith and was going to just cancel then come back in 2 months but glad I gave it one more try. Now, I'm feeling adventurous so Imma gonna take the AT&T bloatware off!

I'd buy these in a heartbeat if it included a micro SD slot.

I believe some if not most got it unlocked following the instructions posted in the wiki right after receiving the phone.

glad it worked out for you at the end! Did you try the past request not in incognito. I'm wondering what changed this time?

Quick questions. Is the S23 still being made? I want to jump on this deal but leave for a trip to Hawaii in a couple of days. Not sure if Best buy will get more stock, or this deal will continue in another week or two. Also, I would like to switch to the ATT cell phone and have no intention of cancelling. Can I get it unlocked after 60 days if I buy it outright?

Yeah, I just used a different browser like the other member did. Other than Incognito, I don't know what changed. I did wait more than 24 hrs since my last attempt. That may have been the key.

I'm gonna try calling tomorrow instead of waiting until Monday to cancel the line.

I'm not sure if BB will have stock but they did have stock for s22 earlier this year so take it for what's it worth. You can request unlock after 60 days (according to the ATT policy it's irrespective of you are a current customer or not)

I have seen reports of incognito working better for ATT unlock requests before too. I believe the unlock system also tracks some kind of cookie in the browser.

Appreciate the write up. I hope my experience helps others.

The XAA file is painstakingly slow to download. They meant slow when they said slow download. haha
