This is the lowest price for the direct drive racing wheel from Logitech. However, this is the PC only version.

I don't know why people would buy this when the much better Fanatec DD Pro costs less. And once you are in the Fanatec ecosystem you have a upgrade path to better wheels, bases, and pedals. It's like comparing toys to pro racing sim system.

I would NOT recommend the DD Pro. It has lots of issues, just see r/fanatec on Reddit. The ClubSport DD is a more fair comparison. This Logitech likely falls somewhere in the middle. It's tough to recommend because there are other options similar in price, but this is a decent unit. It's just unfortunate that they haven't released additional wheels for it yet.
I've bought cars for less money lol

When you're talking about Logitech G27/G29 line are you referring to these?

Yeah, the first G series wheel was the G25 which came out almost 2 decades ago which was then incrementally updated and improved with the G27, and then then G29 and G920.

Recently, Logitech released the G29 and G923 which were a refresh to their previous generation.

I'm sure this is a good deal but you really aren't going to get a significantly better experience than a gear drive force feedback wheel unless you're actually a professional sim racer

New to Sim racing. Any recommendations for a steering wheel, 3-pedals and shifter in the $500 range? It feels the market goes from $300 to $1,500... with very little in between.

I initially started with a Trustmaster rs300 but it died on me after just 2 weeks of use. I loved it since it was belt driven, but it was just not reliable and I got lucky it was within the amazon return window. I wanted a replacement but was forced a refund because it was no longer in stock after the 2 weeks. Dropped lower to the Logitech g29. The gear driven wheel doesnt feel as great but Logitech reliabilty is what I got it for. This deal is pricy, but you pay for customer service and reliabilty of the product. I would pick logitech personally before a Fanatec because of those reasons. At your budget, I also recommend the Moza R5 like another poster said. It is DD and it's going to be miles better than the Thrustmaster belt wheels. It doesn't come with a shifter but those aren't expensive. I currently use an R5 and been playing Asseto Corsa. The R5 is probably the best budget DD wheel to pick out from since everything else is expensive. Either way though, going deep into this hobby means you'll be spending money since you need a mounting wheel setup, a chair and possible maintenance/repairs or mods to the wheel. I am using a Wheel Stand Pro I got used on Offerup/Craigslist cheap. Only had to drill holes on a plate to fit the pedals and buy a couple of hardware screws. Get one of those wooden Ikea chairs that let you sit low (Ikea Poang) and you got a cheap racing setup.

So it sounds like you're suggesting get the G29/G920/G923 as a starter wheel. Is the shifter worth it?

There's a commonly recommended Thrustmaster in that price range too. I believe it's the T248, but I heard the pedals are terrible.

There are just wheels, no bases, that cost 5x as much as this. Sim racing isn't a cheap hobby to get into if you want quality stuff.

$3,800 for just a wheel, no base:

I've never owned a racing wheel before, which is the best thrustmasters one to get? I was close to getting the Logitech G920 but I feel there's a better option for me out there

I would say try out one of the cheaper wheels first like the g29 and the 920 just because it can be pretty pricey if you feel you sim racing isnt for you. If you do enjoy be prepared for non stop mods. And also make sure you have the room for it. because even a small sim rig with even something simple like the play seat can take up a ton of room and mounting onto a desk and sitting upright just in my opinion isnt the best way to play a sim.

For sim racers, no. They wouldn't bat an eye. For console/casual gamers you are not the target demographic. They do need a console version for PSVR/PSVR2 and GT

Is this compatible with Tetris? I imagine it would be fun to spin the blocks with a steering wheel.
