- During installation only need to use two cables from the power supply to power the CONNECT. While the power supply itself supports the +12 V, -12 V and +5 Vsb rails, the CONNECT converts this power to provide the +3.3 V and +5 V outputs from the +12 V rail.
- Unsurpassed silent performance in Fanless Mode. The fan control button at the back of the power supply allows users to customize cooling needs by selecting between Seasonic S2FC (fan control without Fanless Mode) and S3FC (fan control including Fanless Mode).

Getting it to work with other cases would be extremely difficult.
Looks interesting.
The "power extension" part has your PCIe and Sata plugs and so on , plus RGB headers and fan headers. It's pretty clever.
If you attached the power extension bit somewhere in the case with magnets it would be fine.
Generally the case they offered with this was very good too. Inverted motherboard layout. Very good airflow. Able to hold a 420 rad. Has a special fan placement that cools RAM (good if you like overclocking).
Honestly they did a lot of great stuff with this. Shame we are unlikely to see another iteration.

I have been holding out. The discounting is likely a result of the niche market (being targeted in a way to certain case designs, though still giving some flexibility with magnetic placement). This has tended to drown out some of the other killer features (namely, the efficiency and silent operation).
It will be interesting to see if Seasonic ever revisits this design concept.

Frankly, I think it's a step backwards in terms of flexibility.
The bus bar essentially mandates that you have to occupy a fixed amount of room in the case.
This seems counterintuitive to just having a fully modular power supply where you can pick and choose what's needed from start to finish.

You gain nothing by using this in a regular case, if we're cutting to the point.
There's better and far less strict cable management strategies if you just go with a fully modular power supply.

Yes, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the power supply otherwise.
I just wouldn't go out of my way to get this particular configuration unless I was also buying a case designed for it.
However, the Super Flower SF-750F14HG is also on sale for $90.

I need a case that got the space for the backplane?
Most all SATA/SAS controllers circa 2005 had Staggered Spin-Up (SSU).
Some LSI HBAs require separate power if the motherboard pcie slots don't carry higher supply current.
Afa Y-splitters powering all 22 HDs, the 4-pin Molex- with outdated pin design, may still be more reliable than the uncommon, all-SATA power splitters, due to flimsy 3rd party quality, even if SATA power have multiple/redundant pin assignment.

They call it a backplane, but it's more like a breakout board.
If you have a case specifically designed for it, that would be ideal.
But there's nothing saying you couldn't mount it elsewhere with double stick tape.
It's definitely not something that is going to become commonplace, so no need to worry about that.
Can always just sell it if it doesn't work in case set up. Seems handy to have around for testing though.
Hadn't ordered from Newegg in quite a while... They've uh really gone downhill. Had to turn down like 5 offers for services or trials just to purchase.
