Even for Civivi, 14c and G10 for $100 is not in the ballpark. Love their stuff all around, but even for $50 it's just meh. For $30 or $40 it's in the ballpark of a good deal. I've owned dozens of civivi's. This is the way
How thick of a blade do you want for a folding knife? Pivot and lock would typically fail first unless under improper use. This model specifically has a blade that's >25% of total thickness, which is a great ratio.
Also, button locks are not ambidextrous. You're thinking of the Axis lock now that Benchmade's patent expired. Neither are relevant to Civivi specifically as a brand.
I'm no hardcore Civivi fanboy and have my complaints with them elsewhere but I'm pleased with what I've purchased for the price. Maybe you had a poor experience with a cheap liner lock.
Took a chance on the damascus, been wanting to try both a civivi and a damascus steel.

Civivi blades are always super thin vs the thickness of the handles. They slice well, but the proportions always feel off as if they're skimping on materials.
Also, I would not buy a Civivi unless it's a button lock model. Those are functionally ambidextrous
You talking trash and don't even own the blade. Big L

I have a few civivi's, but they all became my 'in case a cop takes it while i'm overseas' knives. The button locks are good, but still have the thin blade problem
I just got a custom benchmade crooked river today, so I'm going to go enjoy that now lol

Thin blades make for great slicers and 14C28N is a tough steel so it isn't going to break with normal use. It is tougher than D2, S30V, S35VN, S345, N690, etcetera. Easy to resharpen and decent edge retention. I never understood why someone needs a thick blade in a pocket knife, Wrong tool for the job.
According to the specs, the handle of this knife is thinner than most - like the Civivi Mini Praxis.
It really makes a difference at 0.44" / 11.2mm if you are going to carry it in your pocket every day.
