That price isn't bad, but if the monitor is damaged in shipping (had that happen once), or if the monitor does not work properly, then there's a problem. In the case of MY store (and maybe just my store), if I have to return the item, I only get $45 back + tax. The store keeps the $30. I just wanted to make people aware of that, and to check the receipt to see how the store worked the numbers. To me I considered that a scam since I have a few opportunities a year to get rid of monitors for free. For those that don't, it's a non-issue.
Sorry op for making it sound like I was dumping on your deal – that wasn't my intent. I appreciate everyone that takes time to post on this site. And no, I did not thumbs down your post. I'll be interested to read how others make out with their pricing. Screaming deal if you get it for $49. Good luck to all.

Looking at lowest 2k price, nothing in stock that's better or even close to this deal that I just bought. Lowest is refurb dell for $151, even with discount it's 135 and that's for a refurb.

True. Mostly at full MSRP, but probably a chance to price match or haggle. They do serve as a place to examine merchandise and for appliances are usually cleaner than Home Depot.
Paid $89.99 out the door. Absolutely worth it for me, for a nice 2nd monitor to hook up to my laptop and other PC. That NEC got hot and picture quality was crap LOL.
I work (very) part time at our local Best Buy (Saratoga, NY) so I can't speak for other areas/stores/states, but in our store it doesn't matter if it works or not. We certainly don't check them when they come in. We charge $30 for any monitor or TV. We're only supposed to accept tube TVs under the 32" and flat panels under 50", but I've definitely seen people bring in bigger without issue.
Yah when I brought mine in the guy didn't even turn it on to check.
YMMV.

They are schizo.
I remember when they were so bad, I didn't go for years, and my member card expired.
Then when they started price matching amaz and everyone else, they got better.
Its up and down, over the years, depending on whos the store mgr, and whos the blue shirt you happen to deal with.
Take care and good luck.
