Watch the pricing when you buy. The way the ad ran it sounded like $79.99 + $30 for recycling then minus the $30 coupon for recycling. The ad then states you get 10% off, which should then total $72. Best Buy does the following: Pricing was $79.99 - $30 discount = $49.99 then - $5 for a price of $45 for the monitor. That sounds great, but then they add a separate line item of +$30 for recycling. If you have to return the monitor (broken, bad pixels), They will give you $45 back, not the $75 purchase price. Essentially, if you get a bad item, you then do have to pay the $30 recycling fee. Screw that. Go to Walmart. The LG 24ml600m-b is on sale for $71.28 - no recycling scam.
Actually just upset with the rude rep at my local BB. First trip to the store they told me there was no recycling promotion for my state. Found the details of the promotion didn't mention anything like that, and returned a second time. I got a "sorry about that". I knew I would not get the great deal you got; I just expected a price of $72 pretax. The rep at my store came up with the $79.99-$30 then 10% off of that number. A recycling fee of $30 was then added on to my receipt for $75 plus tax.
That price isn't bad, but if the monitor is damaged in shipping (had that happen once), or if the monitor does not work properly, then there's a problem. In the case of MY store (and maybe just my store), if I have to return the item, I only get $45 back + tax. The store keeps the $30. I just wanted to make people aware of that, and to check the receipt to see how the store worked the numbers. To me I considered that a scam since I have a few opportunities a year to get rid of monitors for free. For those that don't, it's a non-issue.
Sorry op for making it sound like I was dumping on your deal – that wasn't my intent. I appreciate everyone that takes time to post on this site. And no, I did not thumbs down your post. I'll be interested to read how others make out with their pricing. Screaming deal if you get it for $49. Good luck to all.
I don't get it, what monitor am I getting for 79.99?

Looking at lowest 2k price, nothing in stock that's better or even close to this deal that I just bought. Lowest is refurb dell for $151, even with discount it's 135 and that's for a refurb.

What do you mean? BestBuy sells Kitchen appliance, TV, Smart devices, computers and High end audio speakers and components as well (Magnolia).

True. Mostly at full MSRP, but probably a chance to price match or haggle. They do serve as a place to examine merchandise and for appliances are usually cleaner than Home Depot.

I just this right now. I had like a 20 year old NEC LCD monitor I was dying to get rid of. I walked in and the Best Buy people looked at me like I had ten heads. The manager goes it's fine, let's go do this. He type in the recycle and sure enough the $30 coupon and 10% coupon popped up. I paid the $30 recycle fee and got my coupons. I went in the back and picked out an LG - 27" IPS 3-Side Borderless FHD 100Hz AMD 100Hz FreeSync Monitor. 27MR400

Paid $89.99 out the door. Absolutely worth it for me, for a nice 2nd monitor to hook up to my laptop and other PC. That NEC got hot and picture quality was crap LOL.

I work (very) part time at our local Best Buy (Saratoga, NY) so I can't speak for other areas/stores/states, but in our store it doesn't matter if it works or not. We certainly don't check them when they come in. We charge $30 for any monitor or TV. We're only supposed to accept tube TVs under the 32" and flat panels under 50", but I've definitely seen people bring in bigger without issue.

I did this deal yesterday and got myself a G9. When I went to customer service to recycle my monitor, the lady said that there's a charge for recycling monitors. I said no problem and made sure she knew about the promotion (she didn't but figured it out). She then handed me the coupon without actually charging me to recycle the monitor. The subsequent transaction to purchase the G9 did not have a $30 recycling charge on it. It was $1,099.99 - $30 - $107 = $962.99 + tax.

YMMV.

Sorry your BB so crappy.
They are schizo.
I remember when they were so bad, I didn't go for years, and my member card expired.
Then when they started price matching amaz and everyone else, they got better.
Its up and down, over the years, depending on whos the store mgr, and whos the blue shirt you happen to deal with.
Take care and good luck.
