Full Disclosure:
This is a complicated deal that most readers will not qualify for. I am also posting with an ulterior motive. I am considering it. Might be a great deal, but if it's not, the SD community can be relied on to tell me exactly how it's screwed up and point me to a better deal.
Q&A is in the community wiki for this deal. Feel free to add and/or answer questions there.
They have a similar deal on:
Restrictions:- Must be a Spectrum Internet customer. If you are not in an area where you can get Spectrum Internet, you can't get this deal.
- I have not included the cost of Spectrum High Speed Internet in the price of the deal, as their rates are the lowest in my area, and I'm assuming are competitive elsewhere.
- I have included 60 days of Spectrum Mobile Service in the price of the deal, because your mobile service is likely less expensive and/or you are in a contract you can't leave.
- I have included their Get $100 extra off a trade-in deal in the price of the deal. I assume you trade an old, junk phone. If you don't have one that qualifies, ask a friend to give you one.
- Phone is locked to Spectrum mobile service for 60 days. They will unlock for free after that provided the phone is fully paid off.
Deal Instructions:- Purchase the phone in a single payment of $549.99
- Select trade-in option. Their claim of $100 extra on trade is overstated on newer phones. Two examples (one good, one bad)
- My wife's 4-year old mid-range phone (Moto G Power 2020) gets a $105 trade in. I'm taking that - great deal!
- My Pixel 5a gets $70 trade-in from most vendors, but only gets $140. That's good, but not $100 extra. I'll probably sell it on Swappa for $100-120.
- The phone must have a $1 or more trade in value, so if it's really, really old and/or broken, it may not qualify. Broken phones can qualify if they have trade value.
- A trade is not required, but if you can get $100+ for a junk phone and don't take it, you're just being an idiot.
- Buy their least expensive phone plan $19.99/mo for 1GB data. Not a great deal here, but you only need to keep it for 60 days/$40. I counted this in the $499.99 price in the title.
- Their optional $5/month warranty is a very good deal if you want a warranty. The Google store charges $12/mo for a warranty on the P8Pro, and most third party vendors charge $7-$9.
- You must keep Spectrum Internet and the Spectrum mobile plan for 60 days.
- Wait 60 days. Set a calendar reminder.
- Unlock for free and switch to the vendor of your choice. I'm going with this other slick deal.
- Cancel unwanted services.
The following statements are true, to the best of my knowledge from information collected from Google service and Pixel discord. It may not be 100% accurate. If it is not, discuss in comments:
- It will be usable on AT&T or T-Mobile networks after being unlocked.
- The hardware is identical to to factory-unlocked Pixel 8 Pro. The only differences are in software.
If you have questions, I will be going to the Spectrum store later today to ask questions. I would be happy to bring yours along. Put your questions in the post Wiki and I will edit with answers.

But, if that holds true, it leaves me with options.
- The Samsung S24FE and A35 should both release soon. Either would work for me, maybe a deal on one. Also strange that Spectrum isn't selling the S24+.
- I could try to hold out for a Pixel 9 Pro in October. But, my phone loses security updates in August, so I might have to really think about trying that.
Or, I could just take the P8Pro. $500 isn't exactly a bad deal for one. Just craws me that it was $200 less a few weeks ago. But, if that holds true, it leaves me with options.

It was either 700 off a S24 OR S24 Plus OR S24 Ultra with any trade in that could be looked up in their trade in tool
Now, it's down to 500. Still may actually be a better deal than this Pixel deal
Anyway, you have to have Spectrum service already. Then, go in store with the trade in phone. Say you want to do the deal.
**Two key parts**: ONLY do trade in on the spot and paid in full. Do NOT go for the online Assurant trade in nonsense. If the phone isn't in stock at the store, go to another store. It isn't that long of a process. Took me 10 minutes to buy it two times, maybe a bit longer the other times
Trade in via mail didn't work out well for a lot of people. Assurant sketchy af
As long as you do that, the deal is fairly uncomplicated and very worthwhile
I just hit 60 days on each of my devices last week and got them all unlocked, and am canceling service soon
Got credits for trade in on the spot and was able to walk out with fully paid off S24 for 150 bucks or so. Wild. Some even then took the S24 (with trade in value of 700) and traded that in for S24. So they actually got a credit and the S24 Plus to boot
Definitely read through those threads, is the upshot

I'm assuming if you are on the service for 60 days, you won't quite beat getting billed for that third billing cycle.

Got billed for three cycles. Can't really get around that AFAIK
It's another 20 bucks, not a deal breaker

And you are right, not a big deal. To me, it's only a $5 loss since I normally pay $15/mo for service. But, it does affect when I cancel. If I'm paying for 90 days, I'll probably start porting my number to a new service around day 83.
Now I'm just waiting for my Mint cycle to run out before jumping (or for a better deal to show up before then - hasn't happened yet, and there are two or three other good very good P8P deals right now).

If you plan on using the service as your main line, make sure you know what you're getting for 20 bucks plan. It's by the gig, and charges add up fast. I did this deal for the now unlocked phones. I have Mint too for actual service and am moving to Tello because I don't use 5 GB of data but do use 2 GB easily. Can save a few bucks there
