An OK deal, not fantastic price but not a unreasonable rip-off either. The major selling point would be if you want a flavored powder that does not use sucralose. This one uses stevia.

I personally find no value in that (sucralose tastes better than stevia), but some people do.
$43.99 in store
Ascent is the only brand of protein powder I've consistently liked (texture/flavor-wise) over the years. Excellent stuff

"Cleanest" protein is too elusive to chase IMHO. Getting a deal on the easiest to mix with water or milk is my personal priority after the general category of whey isolate, casein, or blend. Haven't had this brand but the price seems right if it mixes decently. For taste BSN Syntha 6 is ol' reliable, but it's pricey.

I think favoring stevia over sucralose for being more 'natural' or less processed is also probably a losing battle. But Stevia might be a good choice for people on the ketogenic diet. My sample size is 1 but splenda kicked me out of keto according to the ketostix but stevia let me stay miserable per design.

My favorite protein is ProJym. If you catch it on sale, it's a no brainer.

For folks who are lactose intolerant, have you had any GI issues with this brand? I didn't see lactase enzyme listed in the ingredients which helps me avoid any stomach issues.

Thanks! Picked up chocolate at the store for 43.99. I just ran out of ISO100. I was hesitant to switch to something that has concentrate, but the biggest difference is carbohydrate content. This only has 1 extra carb per serving. I think I can live with that. Tastes good enough and does mix well!

Not a fan of the chocolate; it's OK tasting but the vanilla is great!

In your opinion, what is the best (cleanest) protein regardless of price? Either flavored or unflavored.

I prefer something without artificial sweeteners, just want the healthiest whey protein and don't care about taste.

I tried Orgain Chocolate recently and has been terrible on my stomach. I think its the sweetner they use.

I'm a HUGE fan of True Nutrition [truenutrition.com] and have used them for over a decade. I took a custom blend that a friend made (that is fantastic) and made a small tweak that made it even more fantastic. I've used it for years. It's the best chocolate protein I've ever had [truenutrition.com], and anyone I've given some to try has liked it too. Numerous friends became True Nutrition customers after I gave them a sample. Their vanilla is pretty good, but I like Ascent's a bit better. I prefer Ascent's strawberry protein.

The True Nutrition protein customizer [truenutrition.com] is outstanding. YOU create your protein and include only the ingredients that YOU want.

I like it and think it's possibly the best strawberry protein I've ever had. It does have a bit of a strange taste to it that I find is always present in strawberry "flavored" protein. I find that if I throw a few strawberries in a blender with this protein, some milk, and a banana, I like it much more and don't notice that taste as much. Even w/out strawberries, but just a banana, it's still damn good.

I wish that my Costco would carry more flavors in store. Chocolate is my only option. I'm annoyed at paying $4 more per bag to get vanilla and strawberry, which are the flavors that I want.

If you need to buy now, this current deal has a lower price per gram of protein, but is mostly concentrate instead of mostly isolate. I haven't personally tried either brand.

This deal just posted at about 2.3c/g protein - much less: https://slickdeals.net/f/17425164-six-star-elite-series-100-whey-protein-plus-cookies-and-cream-1-8lbs-12-25-w-s-s-other-flavors-13-83-amazon?p=170369286#post170369286

If you want a blend that is mostly isolate right now, this isn't a bad deal, especially if you get the in-store price (I used the website price in calculations) - in-store would probably be about 2.9c.

If you wait for other protein powder deals, better deals than this will pop up. Just wait for them and maybe set a notification.

I also have a bunch of products listed on the community wiki page of this post.
Thank, this is a great list!
