Looks like "The only difference is that the 5GHz and 6GHz bands have slightly lower theoretical bandwidths despite having the same 2x2 specs"

Just like everybody else, I went from Nighthawk to this. 3 units in my 2 story house and the speed and connection is insane.

I have tons of smart devices connected along with cameras. No issue whatsoever in every corner and way back of my house with couple of security cameras.

Best router i ever own.

How does this brand compare to Orbi? I am trying to decide if I want to jump ship.

I have an Orbi 3-unit WiFi 5 model at my home, while I set up a TP-Link mesh network for my father. Practically, there is not much of a difference in comparable in usage. Both have apps that do all the basics well. My units have been very stable over the years, and my dad hasn't complained about his either. I do sometimes have issues connecting to my Orbi remotely, but that is just anecdotal evidence.

Orbi units do tend to be a bit more expensive, and honestly I don't know why. I'm buying this deal myself because shifting to a new house and will have 1Gbps internet. The previous Orbi router won't support that speed. A router is something you set up and forget about it, once it's done. In that respect both brands are good enough. Might as well save some money with the TP-Link.

I just got these to replace some Eero 6 Pros. My speeds were just under 500mbps down on those and now they're just a bit under 800mbps down. Both mesh setups used wireless backhaul. It's feeling way less necessary to run Ethernet for anything under 1gbps.

I bought the XE5300 set just over 365 days ago. One unit has completely failed, the Ethernet ports aren't recognized and it constantly disconnects from the network regardless of where it is every few mins. The other two randomly stop working and then work again. My app also keeps removing my network saying nothing is there to control. TP-Link says tough luck not our problem. Never had a router fail like this before, won't be buying TP-Link after the horrible support.

Have had the X60 for a couple years now and love it. Covers a 2700 sq ft, tri-level house with coverage to spare.

Highly recommend this. I switched from a nighthawk mesh system and it's superior in every way. I dedicated the 6ghz band as a wireless backhaul. The app is really user friendly and has some pretty cool features.

Can't agree more. I have three sets of these (one of the variations of this model) on my property, and is so much better to use than the Orbi system I had.

I love Orbi, and the antennas/range are certainly better, but the significant price difference and fantastic app and features are miles ahead of the Orbi and how Netgear has played the 'Blackberry' game so far and been complacent with its failure to keep innovating because they have been on top.

If i needed a new mesh set up, i'd definitely try these Deco. Still running the Orbi 5 and only using 2 of them with ethernet backhaul. But I'm so interested in using Wifi6 or 6e instead.... But not $300 worth to try.

Would this work well for a 2 story house where it's more of a long L shape or would custom building a ubiquiti set up be better, but also unfortunately more expensive? (like a unifi AP pro)

I covered our 2 story with 2x UAP-AC-HD that I got for $45 each on eBay, using CGW Ultra as router. I know, wifi 5 only, but I have 350/350 fiber, so good enough.

These are junk. Horrendous support - 2 weeks to get a reply to a question. App is buggy. Had to reboot them on a daily basis. Would drop randomly. Switched to Google Nest, and have had no problems. Buyer beware.

Apparently, this model was just released by Tp Link.
I have a network running w 5 Decos and it is running smoothly.
I really like these devices.

Is this a true mesh where each unit meshes to all other units to extend range, or does each unit only communicate with the head unit?

Apologies for being a noob, but I'm using spectrum and their proprietary router. Internet is bad in 2800 house. Would this help or should I be getting a new router instead or even additionally with a mesh system?
