New customer ccan cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation fees. huge YMMV though . Make sure to pay off the phone before you cancel the line and make atleast one call or text to activate the phone.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus is redefining the epic standard – both for what a smartphone can do with video and for what you can communicate create and experience with it. In other words if you’ve got something to say Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus makes it possible to say anything you want with video at any time-even in the darkness of night.
In Verizon , no risk. Get the phone , activate it , Make a call, Pay off the phone ( either with in 3 days to avoid activation or after 14 days ) and cancel the line. Phone will be autoamatically unlocked.
Risk is in ATT phone which require , sim swap.
I hope this help.
This has the inefficient 8 gen 1 processor, meaning you'll have disappointing battery life. The S23+ has among the best battery life (plus it's newer, will get updates for longer, ...). So if you're not awfully tight on money, you'll likely be more pleased for longer with the S23+.
Edit: Also, the S23+ has 256 GB of storage, while the S22+ in this deal has 128 GB.
I'm going to practice on a Walmart/Verizon Samsung Galaxy a14 to make sure this works.
Trying to get the schedule right. Does this work?
- Monday (Day 0) Buy phone on Walmart website.
- Wednesday (Day 2) Phone arrives with 2-day shipping.
- Wednesday (Day 2) Activate, make a phone call and text.
- Wednesday (Day 2) or Thursday (Day 3) Call Verizon support to cancel service.
- Wait at least 60 days. You can tweak out the phone during this time, trying to uninstall bloatware, setting up an SD card, etc...
- Punch IMEI into https://www.t-mobile.com/resource...-own-phone BYOD checker. It should say the phone is unlocked and good. (It should be unlocked automatically)
- Re-activate on any USA mobile network. I'll probably go with US Mobile (A MVNO for Verizon and T-Mobile).

How are you guys able to pay off the device early in couple of days?
I tried calling and corporate store both and they said it can't get paid off for first 30 days (or at least 14)?
I asked them for the cash payment but they said I need to wait at least 30 days.
Similar experience here. When calling 611, saying "pay off device", then it sends me a link. Following that link, the system tells me I can't pay off for 30 days.
I haven't tried going into a corporate store yet though.
Today is day 3 for me. I'll have to swing by a store and see if I can pay off. Otherwise, I'll be canceling and returning.
It's in the verizon contract you have to agree at checkout. It also autofills the number for shipment notifications. It's also on the FedEx shipping label in tiny text.
I've gotten these deals from Walmart many times over the years, for online shipping orders they've never included any documentation in the box.
If purchasing in store you can ask them to print it out.
I went through my order details on the Walmart site and no mention of it there. When I checked out i was never redirected to Verizons site - just the Walmart embedded credit check portal.
FedEx shipping label has six(?) Different numbers with field heading like PO (purchase order?) Etc. not sure which one is "account"?
Guys, activate as prepaid and you'll never need to pay off the phone. Don't bother go to Verizon stores. These phones are free from Walmart.
Curious as to how this willl play out. Technically you are activating service...just not a post paid plan. When I talked to CS, they offered to set me up with a plan. I said I didn't want to screw up how the workflow from WM to VZW was supposed to go in order to pay off the phone.
walmart doesn't charge for the phone if they don't setup the verizon account properly you get it free because its billed to the verizon account if not properly setup the Phone can be activated on verizon prepaid plan and automatically unlocks in 60 days with paying for just 1 month of prepaid service.

Yes, that's pretty much what happened... these phones are not supposed to be able to activate as prepaid. Somehow the activation out of the box allowed this to happen. In myVerizon app, these phones don't have option to be paid off, or they are already treated as paid off phone. Seems like a glitch.
you always run that risk. Verizon could wise up and start scanning their system for IMEIs that came from Walmart on a post paid but was not activated. they could blacklist the IMEI. they could claim a charge back for the phone. who knows.

On the final checkout page after the credit check and plan selection
Walmart will ask you to pay tax and confirm shipping address.
On this page at the bottom is where the Verizon agreement is. Walmart forces you to open and agree to it.
On the FedEx label on the top, the first number under your delivery address to the left in small text is the new phone number assigned.

Maybe that is a part of the glitch. I didn't pick a plan when checking out through Walmart. Odd.
Mine was shipped via OnTrac. I don't see anything that looks like a phone number but I'll try a few different ideas.
Cancel in the first 3 days or after 14 days and you should have just a prorated bill. Maybe activation.
How long did you wait after activation? I believe you want to do it within 3 days of activation or after 14 days.
Sounds correct. No activation fee because of within 3 days of activation?
They activate it same day of the order I think? I activated my device on the 3rd day when I receive my phone then made a call and ported it out. I don't think they ended up charging activation on mine but I still haven't confirm since no paper billing yet.

I don't think this plan works now. I got a new line and phone, phone was activated, made a call then tried reaching out to customer support to payoff the phone. The agent gave me a date(14 days from activation) when I will be allowed to payoff the phone. Will have to wait until then, but after that a week later my first bill will get generated so I am not sure whether I cancel the line on the day after payoff date I will be charge the activation fee and days usage.

It really is up the CS rep's discretion. If you don't want to mess with it, port your number out to Tello. It'll auto cancel the line immediatly.

EDIT: this is what my Walmart email said to do to activate [walmart.com]
