Walmart just reduced Verizon Samsung Galaxy S22+ 128GB - $199 ($5.53*36 months)

Verizon - https://www.walmart.com/ip/seot/2...tryType=WL

Its not monthly credits so please donot ask this question in comments.

You will be billed $5.53 per month for 36 months so you can pay $199 after 14 days and get your line free again. Phone will be unlocked automatically , once you activate the phone and make a call , even when you disconnect the line before 60 days

New and existing customer will be charged $35 activation fees.

Existing customer total - $199+ TAx + $35 upgrade feee

New customer ccan cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation fees. huge YMMV though . Make sure to pay off the phone before you cancel the line and make atleast one call or text to activate the phone.

In Verizon , no risk. Get the phone , activate it , Make a call, Pay off the phone ( either with in 3 days to avoid activation or after 14 days ) and cancel the line. Phone will be autoamatically unlocked.

Risk is in ATT phone which require , sim swap.

I hope this help.
This has the inefficient 8 gen 1 processor, meaning you'll have disappointing battery life. The S23+ has among the best battery life (plus it's newer, will get updates for longer, ...). So if you're not awfully tight on money, you'll likely be more pleased for longer with the S23+.

Edit: Also, the S23+ has 256 GB of storage, while the S22+ in this deal has 128 GB.
I'm going to practice on a Walmart/Verizon Samsung Galaxy a14 to make sure this works.

Trying to get the schedule right. Does this work?
- Monday (Day 0) Buy phone on Walmart website.
- Wednesday (Day 2) Phone arrives with 2-day shipping.
- Wednesday (Day 2) Activate, make a phone call and text.
- Wednesday (Day 2) or Thursday (Day 3) Call Verizon support to cancel service.
- Wait at least 60 days. You can tweak out the phone during this time, trying to uninstall bloatware, setting up an SD card, etc...
- Punch IMEI into https://www.t-mobile.com/resource...-own-phone BYOD checker. It should say the phone is unlocked and good. (It should be unlocked automatically)
- Re-activate on any USA mobile network. I'll probably go with US Mobile (A MVNO for Verizon and T-Mobile).

Received my third phone. Still have activation problem on postpaid on all 3. Seems like it's not a random problem that Walmart has. At least it activates on prepaid.

Does putting a MVNO (Tracfone) work to set the clock for unlock?

Nobody knows. All I can say is the prepaid works fine (so far for myself).
But as someone mentioned before, you still have risk to be charged back by Verizon or the phone could be blacklisted by Verizon, or both.

Does MVNO (Tracfone) trigger the unlock for 60 days?

The question has no value. You can't even activate this phone on tracfone to start with. As far as I know you can only activate the phone on Verizon prepaid, IF YOU WERE SHIPPED A PHONE THAT DOESN'T ACTIVATE ON POSTPAID. Or else you can only activate on Verizon postpaid with payment plan.

Bought Galaxy S23+. Ported over on day 2.

Final bill was $412. Called in and asked for activation fee to be waived. Final bill 376.69 + 33.66 tax = $410.35 for phone that will unlock in 60 days.

This thread is for the S22+, which is still available at Walmart.
I don't think there's much difference between S22+ and S23+, other than ~10% longer battery life.

Oh don't let the S22+ haters on the other thread see that Smilie Although the S23+ is a 256gb.

I'm happy with the S22+. It's my work phone so gets light use and some SM consumption. I can go a couple of days between charging.

Thanks. I totally forgot there was no note 22 an thought it was the 22 series that last had the jack. Have you ever tried using a USB c adaptor to mic? I found most devices didn't see different adaptors or mics on the 3.5mm jack. An im also not big on USB c or adaptors cause it's garbage that probably won't stay in when the phone is held vertically. But would like to know if it works for others.
USBC to 3.5mm works fine on my Note10+. I don't end up using it that often but when I do it works.

A bit off topic (sorry) but I have an S21+ 5G and have had various others thru the years for me and family, and fairly pleased, BUT, the battery recently swelled (so I an looking for a new phone). Samsung research or data suggests after S20 (when this was a common problem) they changed the materials and wasnt supposed to happen, but (due to keeping the thing fully charged TOO MUCH) this is being reported by many with S21. Samsung doesnt really take ownership or have a remedy for those affected (sigh.) Wondering: anyone else experience this 2- these SD and other programs have trade-ins and since the battery takes a charge and other than the glue coming loose so back cover slips off (unless in a wallet cover) seems to qualify the phone for trade-in-value. Samsung support says nahh we will probably charge you. Anyone trade in a bloated battery phone or have insghts? TY

I don't know what you are asking. The phone comes pre-programmed to to only activate on the Verizon postpaid account setup by Walmart, and is supposed to only active that way.
There are some cases where the the account wasn't setup by Walmart and the postpaid activation fails, and in that case, phone will only activate on Verizon prepaid.

Tracfone requires you to activate the IMEI on website not just a sim card.

im confused as to if there is a catch here. I currently have a phone line through verizon paid for by my employer. If i were to buy this phone for $200 can i simply switch the sim cards and maybe have them call verizon to activate it?
