Thoughts on this guy vs the PRS SE ? I'm a bass player wanting to dabble in guitar. Thanks!
Having researched and considered buying both, I'd rather have the PRS Silver Sky SE, especially if it comes with the free gig bag (these Fender Player models usually don't come with a gig bag).
The Silver Sky could be turned into a hard-tail if you block the tremolo, but you can't turn the Tele's bridge into tremolo. Also, I find the three-pickup config more versatile, sonically. I'm not a fan of 3+3 headstock on the Silver Sky, but I love the cutaway for more access to the highest frets.
The addition of a whammy bar and an extra pickup might sway you one way or the other. I personally hate the bird inlays in the SE. They look great in abalone, but the white ones look like cheap plastic.
I love the bird inlays! I may haev made goo goo eyes at a PRS S2 Custom 24 in lake blue at some point XD Sadly not with abalone birds. That would have been even better!

Wow - that blue is pretty!
For those asking what's a 'better' guitar - if you have any way to get to a Guitar Center or whatnot, IMO, feel is the most important to me. Sound can be easily modified endlessly, but action, fretboard, finish on the frets etc, is much more subjective and to personal taste. If you hate the way it feels, you'll never like playing it, no matter how good it sounds.
Great deal, and not to take anything away from it, but Just throwing it out there because I did this, if you live in a sales tax state that makes the Miami deal only about $100 more for the player plus version which has some upgrades easily worth much more than $100. That said I much prefer the surf green color, so YMMV
This is 679 now (almost a month later). No longer a cheap deal but the only location I've seen the green. It's not available on the Fender site. https://www.fender.com/en-US/elec...12550.html

I would take this Tele any day. These have a great neck and I am not fond of the PRS neck.
Edit: Back to 600!
