I use it for office work so the single usb-c for video/power and the hub with ethernet were a big draw. I like that I can have one usb-c connection to my Macbook for everything. A few things:
I can confirm the ethernet connector is gigabit. I couldn't verify that anywhere before purchase so, in case you were wondering, it's indeed gigabit.
I don't know why, but the ethernet connector will randomly disconnect under heavy usage until I power cycle the monitor. Might be faulty hardware, my mac, or my network. I searched the web and couldn't find anyone else with the issue so I've chalked it up to bad luck. I purchased an inexpensive usb gigabit ethernet adapter that I plugged into the back of the monitor and it works great.
For mac users: if you want to be able to control the brightness and volume of this monitor using your keyboard you can do so with an app called "MonitorControl" (https://github.com/MonitorControl/MonitorControl). Much more convenient then fiddling with the joystick on the back of the monitor.
Overall, despite the ethernet issue I have no regrets with this purchase and love this monitor.
Did some research and found out why this is happening. Both of us were partially correct.
The reason I'm getting full USB 3.0 speeds is because I'm outputting video HDMI-HDMI and everything else through USB-C.
If you are outputting video through USB-C (e.g. single cable connection from monitor to laptop), the bandwidth is cut in half and all ports on the built-in hub are limited to 2.0 speeds because there is simply not enough bandwidth to support full resolution at max refresh plus gigabit Ethernet plus USB 3.0 ports. Apparently this is the case with most USB-C monitors with USB ports.
The only way to get all of the above through a single cable connection is if you have a relatively new PC that supports DP 1.4 (8K/60) and enable 1.4 on the monitor (which is on by default). Mac currently does not have this option. Learned something new today.
Tl;dr: You won't get full USB 3.0 speeds through a single cable connection unless your device supports DP 1.4.
Tested this on both my PC and M1 Pro MBP

I purchased this monitor a few weeks ago when it was at this price point. Pictures and text are somewhat grainy on both my computers and I haven't found the correct setting to remedy that. If anyone has experienced this and found a solution I would love to know.
If you are not using the USB-C make sure you are using an HDMI - HDMI cable and not the HDMI - DP cable that came with it.
ah. I don't suppose I'll get any coupons within a day of signing up. The 4000 pts one expires tomorrow. Hard to say when they'll pull the sale too, though I've seen postings on and off in the last month at $250. Chase has a 10% rebate that expires in a few days. Most I can get this down to right now is 191. There are also CB sites that have 4.5%.
On the desktop site there's a little question mark icon next to the "54% off" that says it expire tomorrow. There's also a coupon "spinner" that seems to pop up sometimes that might give you a coupon. You might need to clear your cookies/cache or use a different device if it's not showing up. Chase 10% is nice, I didn't have that on any of my Chase cards. As you said, it was on sale a little while ago and came back so there's always hope for another time.

I used it and got 2.0 speeds, wellcum and other commenters in this thread and the old as well.

Thanks for pointing those out. Got the $15 off coupon from the spinner. If the CB site pays out, kinda hit or miss, this comes down to ~$169. Pretty solid score for us!
So, I'm sitting on 2 monitors that I haven't tried yet but have to return soon: LG 34WP60C-B (VA 160hz bought at $229) and Gigabyte M34WQ (IPS 144Hz bought at $359). Gaming is lowest on my totem pole, have some steamdeck Switch emulation that I'd like to try at some point. No PC gaming. Is anything above 60hz overkill for my use case?
Please give the M34WQ a try and compare displays with this one; I returned this due to the banding/backlight uniformity (also why I returned the MSI MAG401QR) but the Dell P3421W I got on a refurb deal (returned because it was a sketch refurb) had a great display. I scoped out the M34WQ as the best alternative without going >$700 (although 15W PD over USB-C and flat, it looks like it is approaching EOL; alternatively this looks even better for me with the light sensor, but is EOL ($500 on amazon tho) https://www.displayninja.com/acer...kp-review/ or the equivalent x34 https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Preda...B099NYLFYX).
I'm really just looking for ultrawide IPS with good display and USB-C for personal laptop or work laptop real quick. Higher refresh rate is always welcome although I do have a 1440p monitor I game on

Will do. This monitor ends up being roughly 50% the price of the M34WQ, so have to see if the extra 100 nits, 84Hz refresh, and 4ms response time make the Gigabyte model worth it over this LG.

I tried this, hdmi-hdmi on my windows laptop, and also connected usbc for ethernet needs. Looks like only one is active either hdmi for video output or usb-C, but both are not working simultaneously . Is this how you setup and tested?

I just realized that I will likely get $50 less what I paid from Best Buy due to their awkward mybestbuy plus program, which I will spare you all the details on. Essentially am paying $50 for a 60 day return window. So if I chose either LG, I'm paying an additional $50 for it, you could say.
Just keep what you bought. Reading through this thread and all the returns people make is pretty crazy.
Also used an Amazon return coupon code along with the $15 off $60 coupon, got it for $200. If you download the staples easy rewards app and sign in, there's an offer (expires 27th) for 4000 points on a $50+ purchase. Just click offer then place order.
For those looking for clean setup via USB-C, keep in mind RJ45 will be capped at USB 2.0. In practice, you get about 300-400Mbps, may or may not be an issue depends on your need.
N54FTW is the first to brought this to attention . I don't have NAS and my internet is only 300M, but returned it out of principal
Joking aside, panel is great and uniform, but center is slightly brighter due to viewing angle. KVM feature is clumsy, 50/50 only, no 5:9 split. Dual controller software will only work if both machines are on the network, you can't have mouse move cross screen on split display with home pc and work laptop on VPN, for example.
Overall, a great deal if it fits your need, and this time even better. Good luck hunting.
Got this the last time it went on sale and wondered why it wasn't gigabit—thanks for the explanation!

You have to change the monitor KVM settings to match the input you're using. By default, the USB-C display input will be set for both video input and USB hub. The rest of the inputs (HDMI 1, 2 and DisplayPort) are set to USB B. Change the one that you're connecting to USB-C and that should resolve your issue.

This is only true if your machine doesn't support DP 1.4.
