Disagree actually. For those of us without trucks, a track saw would be amazing for breaking down sheet goods at the big box store.

731 woodworks did some pretty comprehensive reviews on track saws - and he reviewed both the wen and the ridgid. Maybe check those videos out?

Can anyone speak to the difference between 2 - 4Ah batteries vs 1 - 8Ah battery other than you'd have to switch the batteries when the first 4Ah battery dies? Like, I tried to argue that 8Ah would provide more power to the saw but CS wasn't budging on 2x4Ah=8Ah.

The 4 Ah batteries are lighter than the 8 Ah battery and you might appreciate the lighter load if doing a lot of sawing. I believe you will get more life from one 8.0 than from two 4.0 batteries. An advantage of two batteries is that you can use one and then charge it while using the second.

I have been waiting to buy a track saw, to break down sheet goods more comfortably. Ideally it would be Ridgid, as I have a good number of their tools ... but, decided this deal was not it. I was resdy to buy, until I saw it only comes with half of a short track. While the battery is nice, It would still mean buying two short sections ( not sold as a single ) and two long ones for a dedicated 48 & 96 track ... and that just bumps the cost up too much. I will wait and see if they bring the kit version with three sections ( 2 short, 1 long ) on sale and then I just need to buy an extra long piece.

Really want one of these but i've already got 2 circular saws. Wondering if in the future track saws will become the price of circular saws and i should just use my circulars until they explode first.

The EU forced phone companies to have one type of charge port why can they forced that on tool company to have one type of battery interface? Want to get this but don't want another battery system…I'm already on two.

Wish I would have seen this. Spent 4 tries with HD Online and with in store trying to get the 8AH issue resolved. Great thing is that they DID make it right eventually.
