-They are a little loose but the sound is amazing!
(Your basically turning these into open-back headphones except they actually have bass and the most bass ever on top of that, this setup really deserves to be recognized by the headphone enthusiast community, if only the X2HR's had these haptic kickers in them, I've thought about buying a pair of each and attempting a Frankenstein build)
These cups with my LG G8's quad DAC and on board DTS X with side to side setting on, and you're in the sound experience that has never been done before
With EQ take a little off the 6000 KHz
-oh and if I'm travelling or exercising, I might throw the stock cups back on.

the ' LG G8 thinq ' can be had for $70 on Ebay the on board quad DAC combined with the onboard DTS-X side to side setting and EQ, has brought the best musical experience I've ever known next to a full Atmos DTS-X high end sound system. If anyone buys this phone, the best phone for audio ever imo, they will not regret it. This DTS-X 'side to side' setting cannot be found anywhere else, not even on PC and it's really unbelievable. this phone with these headphones for dyanmic sound, bass and portability, unmatched.
This phone with a pair of Philips X2HR's- the best 3d musical experience ever. The X2HR's are the only headphones that bring sound around the front of your face with forward and backward sound motions. It feels like the music's going on in your frontal lobe, as appose to in between your ears and to the sides and behind you. Even all of HIfiman's best headphone's as well as the HD 800 S from Sennheiser can't give you the same frontal sound. Rtings also reports this about the X2HR's. (I also do the velor replacements with these)
I prefer these 2 headphone setups over everything else on the market

The corded, amped way is the best way to take advantage of what the evos are capable of...
I have never tried the app with the evos. For the most part I just use a tweeked eq preset on poweramp. I only used the app with crusher anc 2. Easier to manage the bass.
I don't know if they've upgraded the eq stuff, but last time I checked it was only music, movie, and news/reading sound settings, pretty lame, but movie was good! and they had a weird hearing sound test thing that tried to balance out the sound to your personal hearing loss, I thought this was a mess they should just give you a bluetooth eq control.
The big '90mm 110mm brainwaves velour pads' bring soo much soundstage and separation, and comfort too👍

for anyone who didn't read my first rant comment, (if you do) have, $70 to spare, and you really care about an amazing music experience, especially a 1 and done purchase that will excite you and amaze you forever moving foreword, BUY THE LG G8! grab one in decent shape on Ebay for 70. You will be blown away!
I've owned so many devices, so many of the highest quality receivers, so many audiophile speakers atmos/dts surround sound setups, (I have a 8.2.4 Focal atmos/dts-x suround system), I've had so many DAC's, so many sound cards, so much audio hardware and software stuff... The LG G8 is THE one stop audio device, S-tier, forget about it, you plug in your headphones, and set these 4 settings-
--you 'TURN ON' the HI-FI Quad DAC setting.
--you set the digital sound filter to option 'sharp setting'
--you turn on DTS-X 3D Surround Sound
--you set the DTS-X 3D setting to ' Side to side '
Then you lay back with your eyes closed with either the EVO's and velour pads (listed in first comment) for a CRAZY dynamic experience

25-brainwaves 110mm 90mm velour pads-
OR
even better, the PHILIPS Fidelio X2HR's for the most amazing 3d experience you can get, a fishbowl of sound moving through your head like you never imagined.
