Been pretty happy with mine, installation was easy. Only wish it had Matter support, but it at least should be possible with an update since it's homekit compatible.

The only thing I don't like about myq, and I have had it for at least 5 years, two different houses, is it will say it is open when it is not. Main reason I put a camera in the garage years ago.

Haha. I had the exact same problem. Now I have a camera in the garage. Honestly, it's been working okay for the past couple of years. I'd just like something that works with Google home.

MyQ lacks a feature to autoclose if open too long, which is huge for some people. MyQ also has less flexibility as only their platform can control it vs. the Meross ties in to Home Assistant, Homekit, etc.

you can use it with whatever you want, rather than being locked into MyQ's shitty ecosystem

I have lots of home automation, and have used myq for years, I would never automate my garage door for anything. Nor would I want another service, such as Apple, Google, or Alexa to be able to open my garage door.

These things can be inconsistent at times with relaying the door open/closed.

It might think the door is open when it is really closed. So if I automate it to close in X minutes after being left open, and it was actually closed, but it thought it was open, guess what….it could open and then stay open.

Sounds like you're against automation of the garage door but you're currently using myQ? So if you don't like it why not remove it? Are you having the issues you're describing with your current myQ experience?

Nothing will open or close my door except a manual push of a button by me.
