dude. my work just spent 2 mil on office remodel and a hoshizaki ice maker was put in.
what a piece of shit. it's a counter top unit and i is SO inconsistent, every person misses 1-all ice cubes from their tumbler. goes straight on the floor.
sure, madr in japan and all. but did you know Japans economy had never progressed since he 80'ies?
hoshizaki is trash.
never seen a unit this size for this price.
Manufacturer or buydig? Ive had great experiences with buydig. Very reputable. I have an opal ice maker but the ice just melts too fast for cocktails. Wish i could justify this maker but am going to wait til the opal dies.
I find all countertop ice makers are great for making soft ice, but if you want it to last, you need to bag it and put it in the freezer for a little while to harden.

From BuyDig. There was a 34" monitor from them. Their website claimed brand new but it was refurbished. Several other unfortunate fellow SlickDealers encountered the same issue. It seemed intentional because of the high number of victims and zero effort to correct website description after contacting them
For a commercial setting? You're better off investing in a real quality ice machine or renting one.
Renting one is nice because you dont have to worry about maintenance and the monthly costs isnt much but usually you will break even on renting vs buying after years but that doesnt include the costs of water filters which some companies will replace and also any repairs which you never know by the 3rd year.
Does anyone know if a SMALLER countertop device that keeps making ice exists? Most countertop machines have the ice melt when it isn't used within the time window. I want ice on demand at all times but don't want to repair the ice maker in our fridge.
Anyone know of anything or have suggestions??
Do you still have the bin that the ice maker drops ice into? Our built-in ice maker is also broken and we just fill a couple ice trays and empty it into the bin when frozen until full. That lets us have ice on demand. Ice trays are fast to fill and faster to empty. They're also easier to clean than countertop devices and also still need to be manually filled with water. Manual trays won't make artisanal ice, but neither do original built-in fridge ice makers.
There really aren't countertop ice machine that have the same sort of insulation as a larger machine to keep ice frozen. If you're dead set on a countertop ice machine, the GE Profile Opal Nugget Ice Maker will make ice that still melts, but it recirculates melting ice water back into the tank to be remade. It's also really expensive.
Not even sure why the Red Lobster auctions were even mentioned. No average homeowner is going to an auction for commercial equipment. Even if you are a small business owner and there is an average of 1 store closing per state, still not happening. There are plenty of used commercial stores everywhere.
Its a POS

Get a real machine from a local dealer
What is a real machine from a local dealer? Amazon has the exact same one for $100 more. The local used dealers may even have this exact same one or other similar used for around the same price.

Hoshizaki units are made in Georgia.
