that's weird. why use x16 sized connectors then?
Because you can put any PCIe card in it. I have the DDR5 B650 version of the board it dedicates a lot of lanes to the 3 NGFF slots for NVMe and the like. In reality this is a single graphics card only mobo and a few slots for whatever else you need. TBH they are unused on my sons as there are not SATA drives and everything needed in on board.

Huh. Why not open ended x2 and x10 slots?
I have an old board and it's slots can all accept x16 size cards.
if u building a new build u can find similar price on current gen tech. yes its not gonna be high end as this one but even a lower end will out perform and out last this platform. this ddr4 platform is the last cycle of its generations. with the new platform you looking at years of future performance upgrade.
This is a good board. I used it with the 5800X3D. I've since swapped it for the x570 for full PCIe 4 support, but my daughter now has this board and it is solid. If you are doing LED lighting, this board has both types of headers. I paid $189 in Nov 2022. I would pay $115 for this board now if I could build another one.
Would this be a decent replacement for my buggy x570 Aorus Master V1? I have it with a 5950x, rtx 3080, and a pcie 4.0 nvme. I keep getting bsod with the current computer. I did clean install and even tested my parts in another pc and don't get bsod.
